And his demolition of Morrison!!! .How can Mercer go from this type of performance to the Holmes fight. fair play to Larry though! and the Ferguson effort!.He was one of the most hot and cold fighters ever. Anyone throw any light on this subject. A real Russian roulette type of fighter .

Mercer despite being powerful and durable was also one dimensional, predictable, and relatively inexperienced, so it was easy for Holmes to figure out and neutralize Mercer despite his age. Holmes capitalized on every mistake Mercer made such as letting Holmes fight off the ropes, which allowed Holmes to preserve his old legs and keep the pace of the fight very slow. Holmes also got Mercer following him in a circle around the ring, which made it very easy for Holmes to lean away from almost all of Mercer’s punches with minimal effort. Mercer also let Holmes touch him with the left at will, which stopped Mercer from getting into any kind of rhythm.
Exactly. I've been telling this absolute loser that fighters can win very clearly and get robbed with a draw. This guy actually tried, wait for this, saying to me that, you'll never believe it, Wilder deserves credit for his draw with fury lmao. Everyone knows it was a robbery draw, or a roaw as I call them.
The Larry Holmes Vs Ray Mercer fight is one of my favourite heavyweight clashes Mercer had no response to Larry especially being on the receiving end of the jab. I feel like Ray Mercer never really got the recognition he deserved especially being a decorated amateur with his Olympic Gold Medal.
Morrison was winning against Mercer I think until he got tired. I liked Mercer. His fight with Bert Cooper was a pretty good war. He gave Lewis a great fight. I just think he was wrong for Holmes. He couldn’t hurt him much and Larry made him look silly. Tough dude though.

Ray was teak tough. I would have loved to see him fight Bowe, I think he blew his chance by losing to Ferguson. Too bad cause I think it could have been epic.
