Yesterday we had Valentines Day, so I sat down and read a Ray Robinson biography. Ray had four fights with Carlo Bobo Olson winning them all. Were all the fights filmed and how much footage exists? Woller
There was some footage floating about on youtube a bit back, they weren't named though...tricky to find. I'll have a look, I think TheGreatA had some footage on his channel! Here's some footage [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHyWmkph4lw[/ame] Unbelievable speed, even at that age.
Robinson-Olson I may have been televised, but no footage has surfaced that I'm aware of. The broadcast announcer for SRR-Dykes in Chicago made some tantalizing references to the 12th round knockout of Bobo by Ray in Philly less than two weeks earlier, comments which suggest that announcer witnessed Robby-Bobo I as well. Bouts II, III & IV have all been on youtube. Their second match is the most interesting one to me, as that's when Olson went the championship distance in Ray's first successful MW Title defense, and the only one over the distance. (At 160, the only failed challengers of Robby were Graziano and Olson 2X. Robinson's only chance at a dominant reign at middleweight would have been to continue on after Maxim.)
Second one is real interesting, Olsen puts up a good showing. The third and fourth are just brutality on the part of Robinson, superb displays.
