Beats everyone including Hagler. More knockouts though.

Robinson would desimate Leonard's opposition, the only man to give prime ray trouble was jake Lamotta, and that was because no body in middleweight history could take a punch better than Jake.

I think it's virtually impossible to pick against him at welterweight. I did a bit of analysis of Robinson's record recently while he was a bonafide welterweight. Here's what I found:

If we take his strictly defined WW record from his first recognized WW fight up to final WW title defense during the period 1941-1950, his record stands as 46-0 (30 kos)

If we take his total fight record, including middleweight contests while competing as a WW, again from first recognized WW fight up to final WW title defense during the period 1941-1950, his record stands as 93-1-2. The only blemishes on his record were against middleweights but that's still a record of 47-1-2 at middleweight while he was effectively a welterweight.

During that same time period he defeated Marty Servo, Sammy Angott, Fritzie Zivic, Henry Armstrong, Kid Gavilan and Jake LaMotta and beat many of them more than once.

So it's hard to see him losing to any of Leonard's opponents, even ones as good as Benitez, Duran and Hearns.

And more emphatically that Leonard beat them.

Does Duran still try the same mind games in Montreal? Flipping off Robinson`s wife etc.

Remember Robinson, like Ezzard Charles, both killed an opponent. Both had that "ultimate" viciousness reduced some....no matter what they said post- those tragic events.

Probably but Robinson is better equipped to go toe to toe with Duran. His blinding handspeed and power would be too much.

Correct.. And Robbo would have gone toe to toe with Duran. I think he enjoyed it at times , getting in to mini war's to prove himself. He'd have no hesitation doing it and Duran would have been bewildered by sugars hand speed.

SRR did have more power than Leonard. That lefthook was perhaps the greatest weapon anyone ever had. He could throw it in 3s and 4s and 5s. Moving forward, moving backward. Robinson was also a little bigger than Ray Leonard.

As far as pure inside fighting though Leonard may have been a little better than Robinson.

I am still amazed at the handspeed of Leonard`s flurries in Montreal. He was throwing lightening shoeshines and Duran was slipping all of them right at point blank range. Damdest thing I ever saw.

It was really something for sure. Duran's anticipation was other worldly at times.
