All his losses were when he was past his prime. Unbeatable at 147. Every great fighter has questionable wins from Ali with Young, Floyd with Castillo, and Pacman with Marquez. All Floyd would be doing is potshotting and trying to survive. SRR would probably stop him in round 14 or 15. Floyd would only stun him at most and Sugar aint gassin out like Oscar and Shane did. Competitive, but one sided win for Robinson.
The only man who ever beat him amateur or pro that wasnt bigger than him was Basilio, an ATG who fought a 37 year old Robinson, and a guy Robinson beat in the rematch. 15 of his 19 losses in 200 fights came after the age of 40. He also looks unreal on film. No fighter is unbeatable, but everything points to Robinson being the closest.
my dad saw him live at welterweight in a fight to this day he laughs at people telling him that guys like Pacquiao or Mayweather could beat him, he told me unequivocally in his prime at welterweight beats both of them easily on the same night.
He beat LaMotta like 5 outta 6 and as anti boxer and rugged as LaMotta was he was a great swarmer like your name suggests and a great brawler. He also beat a great great fighrer in Marcel Cerdan. No shame whatsoever losing to a bruiser like LaMotta. He was a hellish version of Castillo and make mincemeat out of Floyd.
Honestly Ray Robinson couldn't hold Floyd's jockstrap. If Floyd existed during Robinsons era he'd fight 8 times a year and would school every one of them and retire undefeated. It's not even a debate.
i dont think any of those beat him, maybe SRL can outpoint him if the right version shows up. Yeah, LaMotta did lose. But the taking of that 0 was brilliant nonetheless. LaMotta had a pretty good resume, over some guys that SRR wouldn't touch with a pole too.. Satterfield, Holman Williams, Lloyd Marshall...
