He's getting zero hype.. he's a forgotten talent unlike Shakur, Teo, Devin, Ryan.. etc.

Where do you rate him? He spars with Shakur and Teofimo, so should be developing his game a lot.

Ford looked fast and powerful and bears keeping an eye on. I was surprised and disappointed his opponent quit though. Shame on him. It was starting to look like a pretty good scrap.

On the subject of overlooked fights, the best fight of the weekend imo was the upset of Akhmedov by Gongora on the 3G undercard. Wonder why nobody is talking about it.

I was talking about it, I got hyped off that performance. Gongora is a two time Olympian and now well on his way to becoming an established pro. Insane stamina, chin, great punch selection and timing. He's gonna upset another one of the champs at 168 methinks.

Ok I was previously unaware of Gongora though think I've seen Akhmedov once or twice before on DAZN undercards. I love how Gongora maintained his composure at the beginning when he got hurt and they were hyping it up for the quick KO from the favorite. That was sweet the way he turned it around and then finished with his own KO. So was it actually not an really upset then? The broadcast crew acted like it was, but that doesn't really tell you much these days. In any case looking forward to more from both guys.

Akhmedov did come in as a massive favourite with the bookies but I thought it was the most even matchup of the weekend. Given both had very good amateur pedigree and had fought at a middling level as pros to that point it shouldn't have been so skewed. Gongora crucially has a ton of experience, something like over 400 amateur fights and he was definitely more successful as an amateur too. I think he was underrated because his pro career stalled for a while but now he's back in the driving seat. The broadcast crew screwed the pooch on that front and were rightly shown up for underrating a serious live dog.

Eddie Hearn said after the fight they had options on gongora and would be looking to continue working with him.

will go into wbc top 15 which my guess would be he fights gabe rosado next or they do the rematch as it was a good fight

but in the ray Ford topic I think he could a a world champ. Don’t know about unified etc but definitely got skills to get to the top

Either of those options would be worth watching no doubt. I'd tune in to any combination of those 3 guys for that matter.

well ,he is still fighting debut material and is not a ko artist, thats why there is no hype.Lopez was a marginal improvement into club fighter territory
