Although I think Ruddock is overrated head to head, this might be a dangerous fight for MM. Moorer got in trouble early against some of the better men he faced and Razor had that deadly left uppercut, that I don't think Michael's chin could withstand. The flipside of course, is that Donoven never really proved himself against a prime opponent who could fight with both hands, and had a south paw style... He was also nearly KO'd by an ancient and very deconditioned James Smith, so who knows?

This is a pick 'em fight for me.

    Xpert point m8. :thumbsup

Moorer could KTFO Ruddock, cos he hit as-hard-as Old Boney Smithy And has way, way more puncher-skills. :bbb

I still have no real convictions on the outcome. Both men were decked early by lesser opponents, and both had the power to finish the other. The most difficult thing to determine here, is how each man would respond to their perspective styles. I don't think either ever faced an opponent of the other's description, stylistically. In many ways, it has the makings of a somewhat bizarre affair.

I would love to see this one. Would probably look like the Cooper/Moorer brawl, I think both men stagger against the ropes, get glassy eyed, go down, get up and keep slugging. Ultimately the superior fighter and combination puncher in Moorer comes out on top but only after going down a couple times.

Oh jeez...before it comes..but if Tyson couldn't knock Ruddock out..... Mike did stop hm in the first fight when he actually put some of his punches together, he just couldn't stop him in the ugly one bomb/wrestle/break rematch. Moorer would also be looking to counter more instead of lead.

You're either terribly underrating Moorer or terribly overrating Ruddock.

Moorer of 93-94 beats Ruddock but probably gets stunned and knocked down a few times.

    Xpert post m8, you a star. :thumbsup:thumbsup

Tyson And Ruddock only ever threw one Haymaker at once in teh rematch And spent most Roundz doing gay-wrestling - NOT punching. Mikey Moorer's sexy counters would DESTROY Ruddock, Tyson ONLY used lead punches what Ruddy saw coming a ****ing mile off. :deal

+ Moorer has v.underated power And Tyson has v.overated power. :thumbsup

I think prime Ruddick wins. Moorer's chin just too shaky.

I would pick Ruddock at his ultimate best over Moorer, using the jab that got him his nickname, avoiding overuse of the left-hook uppercut smash and finding his right hand in the fight. He'd KO Moorer just like Foreman did, perhaps a little sooner without absorbing the one-sided beating. Ruddock is an extremely frustrating fighter because he never used his signature jab, opting for his signature smash, holding his hands low while taking shots he should have blocked against Tyson, Lewis and Morrison. Nobody saw the best of Ruddock because he was too stubborn, always loading up on that one punch instead of boxing.

I feel fairly sure that sooner or later Ruddock would smoke Moorer. Both of these guys were prone to inactivity and not using their tools wisely, but I think eventually either Moorer gets drawn into a close exchange or slows down and stands in place in front of Ruddock and gets caught with a big shot.

Keep in mind that Ruddock might not be looking good until then, but a big KO can tend to make everyone forget about that part.
