    Yeah, good fight this one.

Ruddock was about a millions times faster than Smith, who as you say was as slow as hell. But Smith still had that power, as Ruddock found out. Despite his shortcomings as a fighter, Razor always showed great heart in there, and when he got up it was pretty much the beginning of the end for Bonecrusher.

A nice tester for the up and coming Ruddock.

I tend to believe that "Smith & Tyson" took out whatever granite Ruddock had in his jaw, cuz Lewis broke it without a hassle in 1992... Ruddock was never really the same after 1992... Cheers....

Funny, back in '89 I was age 22, while Bones Smith was going on 37..... I thought 37 was very old to be a ringer in 1989.... Here in '11, I turn 44 in a matter of days....

Smith was game against prime Ruddock, but yes, slow as a snail....

Ruddick with his jab & power, should have been at least an alphabet champ.

W/o the jab...he could never beat Lewis, Tyson., or even Holyfield.

I saw Ruddock looked thin in training.... But he was gonna hammer some pug in Canada in which Ruddock could beat at age 100...... What's the delay?

He claims Tyson was a juicer back in 1991, but when you look back, Ruddock may've squeezed the juice himself....... But, he is suppose to be broke in 2011, so he cannot afford the heavy juice anymore, thus, he's lost muscle mass galore.......

Smith did score noteworthy KO's of "Bruno, Weaver & '86 Spoon," but for the most part I agree that Smith was often too slow and lazy to pull the trigger against "A" grade opponents.... Smith had perhaps the stiffest upper body movement I have ever seen.....

I'll say it once and I'll say it again. Razor dissapointed alot of his fans. The guy was said by many in the sport to have a jab comparable to Larry Holmes. It was crisp and sharp when he used it, hence the nickname "Razor."

He never used it against Tyson or Lewis. Had he boxed with more discipline and used his jab to set up the smash or his underrated right hand, Ruddock might have beaten them both. Bowe and Holyfield found excuses not to fight him, but I don't think it would have mattered because Ruddock would have fought them the same. Load up on the smash and nothing else.

After the "Smash" series KO'd Dokes in '90, Ruddock forgot how to snap a jab... He became a smasher to the max.... Ruddock's right was always so-so, cuz he was converted.... Ruddock was a black Cooney---in a sense... All lefts mixed in with gay rights..... Peace....

Agree with you MR. BILL. Ruddock forgot his jab for many of his big fights but I wouldn't say his right is just so-so. It was a better shot than a lot people discredit him for.

You against equal opportunity for our flaming brethren?

Ruddock's body always looked weird, juice or not... nice set of mantits on him... though I wouldn't tell him that to his face.

And yeah, I miss CBS boxing... or even Tuesday Night Boxing.

In Britain we got it on 'Sportsworld Extra'.

It was considered a joke of a fight, with Bonecrusher a million years old, and Ruddock showing the contenders of the time, sucked.

And although he gutted out the win, Ruddock did kind of suck..

Someone mentioned the Ruddock/Page fight, again another fight where in Britain at least, Ruddock got a ton of heat for a very ordinary performance. Hell even the Dokes fight was pick'em until Ruddock released the three 'Smashes'
