Smith still has better wins than Big Cat Williams. Ferguson and Bey trump billy and Terry Daniels, and Bonecrusher knockout wins over Witherspoon, Weaver and Bruno entirely eclipse Big Cat Williams stoppage over unranked Terrell.

I was just being a little brutal on Smith, he was not a total bum. I acquiesce that he had a better record than Cleve, but he was not a good fighter (watch his fight with Larry Holmes), and Cleveland smoked him when it came to skills and versatility.

Smith was a funny kind of guy. I can see why he disappointed you. Very one dimensional. Could get outboxed. Never developed or understood the proper use of the jab. But He had a lot going for him..Strong. Durable. and he could actually knockout elite fighters.

I think Smith exercised real preventative pressure on Larry Holmes. He was stalking, waiting to punch with Larry as soon as Larry started. This had Larry, the more experienced guy, having to move more than he wanted to. Working harder to create the openings he needed. Ultimately Larry prevailed but probably only because he began to cut Smith up and was able to take him deeper into championship rounds.

Smith could come alive almost at any moment in a flash to unleash real whup-ass. I think the record shows Bonecrusher was more dangerous against good fighters than Williams ever was.

While I will never ever rank Smith close to as high as Williams, he was a great puncher and a durable fellow. When Smith fought Larry, I remember thinking, "I thought Larry was past it?" Larry whupped him, especially after he got headbutted.

Nah. I don't have a distinctive avatar, so they probably won't even notice who my interlocutor is here. We're safe.

Is it me? or is Cleveland Williams is so underrated h2h? like there's a lot Cleveland Williams vs ( ) Why I almost everybody thinks that his opponents has a chance a against him? like seriously tho.. Johansonn? Patterson? Why many people gave these guy a chance against Williams? Williams would turn them to f*cking jelly. I also read a thread about Cleveland Williams vs Frank Bruno and I was expecting read some "Williams would murder him" "Williams 1st rnd KO" stuff. BUT WHY SOME PEOPLE SEE BRUNO HAS A CHANCE AGAINST WILLIAMS? LIKE WHY??!?! WILLIAMS IS LITERALLY IS PRIME LISTON'S BEST OPPONENT, WHO BLODDIED HIS NOSE. This is not that 92 year old 1965 version of liston who Ali out classed. Williams is a dangerous foe and it's about time people should start noticing that!! And that stationary Ruddock? like, I can imagine Williams just land his right hand and flurried Ruddock almost effortlessly..

To flip this why would people not see Bruno as having a chance? Bruno gave Tyson a fleeting bit of something to think about in their first match just like Cleve did Liston. Both failed against the best and didn't beat many top 10 guys. Bruno's overall opposition would be a bit stronger as Williams fought a lot of cans tho he also had a lot of fights.

Bruno and Cleveland are on a very similar level. Neither are top 100 heavyweights you would think.

There are both overrated and underrated camps. But yeah, moreso underrated.
