Completely depends on what version of Ruddock shows up. Before his asthma got pretty bad he was much more of a boxer. Had an unbelievable jab. He gained a LOT of weight over the course of his career. If a subtle steroid user there ever was in boxing, it was Ruddock. He started his career at 183 pounds and fought at that weight quite a few times early in his career. Then as a full blown heavy he was 230-250 pounds.
Good matchup. Not convinced, but probably lean towards Earnie. This is the rare matchup where Earnie actually has a nice edge in speed & that'll help in a slugfest. I think he throws a few missiles early and beats Ruddock to the punch. I don't know of a better example of a guy that telegraphed punches > Ruddock. The longer it goes tho, the worse it is for Shavers but my guess is that Ruddock does something stupid early and Shavers catches him.
