This content is protected Some weird and interesting things: The seemingly genuine belief of the HBO crew that Lewis had to jab or box his way to victory (not Foreman!). Lewis, meanwhile, is arguably wielding the hardest right hand punch of any man who had ever walked the planet Harald Lederman's voice. Lewis's deep deep stance and rear foot pivot early. The first KD, not seen one quite like that before, getting punched back, but your feet going out from under you on the way back, falling into your man after momentarily regaining your balance. Really put him on ice-skates. Floyd Patterson in Razor's corner! Razor's post-fight interview: "I can't get used to this climate. He didn't hurt me." The Crypt Keeper Espana claiming to be Irish Meldrick Taylor-Crisanto Espana as a walkout fight. The highest class of all time? 90s ruled, really.
Remember so much about this! Lewis going in as the under dog, Ruddock pumped up for the fight and lookin fing big and scary lol. Then shock of the first Kd, God that was a buzz. Second round and Ruddock on the offensive but getting hammered by Lennox. And that dazed look that Ruddock has in the post fight interview. Ahh, it was the start of the reign of king Lewis!!
Lennox- Seemingly was powered by the insecurity of being shelved by fans. He only seemed to lose the grace of a lions instincts in the face of appreciation. he just seemed to always be humbled just when became as he desired the invincible champion... tragic
Espana was a beast. His war with Ike Quartey was epic. One of the best fights in the last 30 years. A shame his career was cut short shortly after that.
Razor's jab to the body was a thing of beauty. Then early in round 2 he did it again. Ruddock was still trying to relearn how to box. He wasn't ready for anyone in the top 5-8. He'll Greg Page was kicking his ass.
Great performance by Lewis. Ruddock should have waited until the right moment to set up his left. He walked into a big right hand. Shows you how one punch, if landed correctly, can end a fight.
