I never actually said ruddock would lose but I can see him been dropped. His balance was the main problem for a few knock down s he suffered.

You were supposed to only watch Baer’s highlights.

This. Baer's defense and great chin would pretty much neutralize most of Ruddock's offense and his lack of defense would get him killed. Ruddock doesn't have the handspeed and combinations to bring Baer down, since one big punch isn't going to due it against Baer. You needed to really put it on Baer to take him out, since Nova and Louis were both lighting him up with fast combinations when they stopped him.

Baer was never dropped from a single punch, let alone stopped. It's Ruddock who was less durable if anything.

I'll take Baer to stop Ruddock. Max in his prime had a good chin and hit hard. He was past his best when he lost to Nova. Ruddock is strong but pretty basic. I think Bear is a little better but he has to watch out for the big left of Ruddock. Avoid that and he likely wins.

This fight would have to be entertaining as hell, even if it ends up being as a pratfall skit.
You have one guy clumping forward because all his weight his on his left foot, leaning forward, left hand at his hip, looking to rip off that punch he liked. Generally, that would be a bad position to take against a guy noted for his right hand, but Max was often very generous in letting you know that he was going to be throwing his right.
The over/under number for jabs thrown in the fight would be in the single digits. There would be numerous wild misses on both sides, and some bombs landed, too.
Funny thing about Ruddock, his best left hand punch was his jab but he seemed to have spiritual, moral, and ethical problems with using it.
