After rewatching those fights, those actually where great fights. A serious amount of punishment and huge shots landed. what you guys think?
Those who say Tyson couldnt take a punch should watch these fights. Ruddock did not once back up Tyson, despite landing some brutal shots that literally beheaded other opponents.
Ruddock was the next big thing and was the #2 contender only because Tyson was #1...Tyson could have waited a few months for his title shot but, instead fought the fast rising #2 guy with devastating power...Ruddock was decapitating guys, almost killed Dokes, many believed he was the most dangerous HW outside of Tyson...Both had explosive power... That would be unheard of in today's HW scene in which the top contenders are too afraid to fight eachother...
Ruddock took a horrible beating in the rematch. He suffered a broken jaw, and took a hammering to the body. Tyson barely had a visible mark on him, but said afterwards "I feel like I got jumped by ten guys".
