I say Ruddock catches Marciano when hes in the crouch position with "The Smash" and knocks him clean out.

The size difference is not great enough to help Razor. He fought punchers every size and they all got to him

185 pounds vs 230 pounds ? Ruddock's uppercut type punches are perfect against a guy that likes to crouch like Marciano.

If Ruddock can catch Tyson he can catch Marciano who never fought a puncher anywhere near the level of Ruddock.

Razor was a big puncher but no Wilder. Marciano can both absorb and climb off the canvas should Ruddock drop him.
What happens when Marciano hits him back ?

Ruddock went 12 rounds with a good version of Tyson who broke his jaw and ribs so I think he'd be just fine. Marciano got off the floor vs Light Heavyweights not big punching Heavyweights who outweigh him by almost 50 pounds.

But even if size is the matter, Ruddock was nothing new to Marciano, who basically made a living out of KOing bigger dudes .

I saw Razor get off the canvas after getting decapitated by a left hook from Tommy Morrison. That shot was harder than anything a 5'10 185 pound man could throw. I believe Rocky walking forward against a MUCH bigger ,stronger and harder hitter is a recipe for destruction, his own.

Can we really rule out Razor. Just because Rock has that unbeaten record, doesn't make him invincible against a guy like Ruddock.
Can Rocky replicate Tyson and hammer out a dec against him?
I don't know, Im not comfortable in picking Rocky to be honest.

His title reign consisted of Light Heavyweights and a shot Joe Louis. Not his fault of course but I don't recall Marciano ever beating a 6'3 230 pound one punch KO artist. Certainly didn't beat any fighter close to Ruddock's size who would be considered a top contender during that period. The closest would've been Nino Valdes which might of answered some questions but he never fought him unfortunately.

That's it, any objective analysis of Marciano's record to me indicates he'd be in serious trouble against a bigger fighter. He went life and death with an Ezzard Charles that was 2-2 in his previous 4 fights and had recently lost to Nino Vladez and Harold Johnson. Charles earlier in his career handled Joe Walcott twice then later dropped 2 fights to him one by vicious KO. That's indicative of a declining fighter .What really seals it for me though is Marciano getting dropped by Walcott and Archie Moore. He was really dazed when he got up from Walcott's shot and Moore thought the ref interfered at a time when he could have ko'ed Rocky. If smaller older guys like that Charles, Walcott, and Moore gave him fits then a man like Razor would blast him out in a shower of sparks. I know any critique of Rocky is generally met with howls of protest as he was perhaps the best conditioned heavyweight of all time and his grit, determination and toughness is legendary. But facts are facts, a man who's only 3 inches taller with a reach advantage of only 2 inches on Roberto Duran ain't getting into a slugfest with a guy who's 6'3 230 who has a solid chin and hits far harder than Marciano could.

If Marciano can survive Ruddocks power on the chin then he has a chance of breaking him down late or winning a decision. But this is a very big “ IF.” If his chin fails against some of those smash lefts then he might get knocked out.

Favouring Marciano, but Ruddock is certainly a live underdog to say the least

I never said he wouldn't but the fact is he never fought him so we don't have much evidence of Marciano fighting bigger elite Heavyweights that's my point.

Trainer - Go RUDDUCK! Use RAZOR SMASH!
    Rudduck - RUDDD!!
    *Wild MARCIANO was KO'ed!*

In all seriousness, Marciano gets destroyed. I'm not even sure how this is a contest when Rudduck is 30+ lbs bigger than him and proved dangerous enough that Iron Mike, someone known for bulldozing through people bigger than him, chose to fight a slow paced gameplan to avoid getting caught with something big.

Grit and determination worked in Marciano's favor because his chin and power were always top notch compared to his usual competition, but those attributes wont do much good against an opponent like Rudduck who is bigger, stronger, faster and has a better chin.
