The punch Ruddock knocked Dokes out with was more powerful than Foreman`s right hand that knocked Moorer out, Foreman didn`t score many one punch KO`s and no way could Moorer have taken the punch Ruddock sparked Dokes with.

I agree, Mark. Foreman was intentionally trying to tighten up his punches, and he was always more amazing when he looped them. I would say the left George threw at the very end of the Cooney fight was easily equal to that Ruddock punch in strength, however...just nowhere near as fast.

Mike Tyson in his Best I Faced for Ring Magazine said Holyfield was the best puncher:

Old man Foreman was a bigger puncher than Ruddock....especially when u consider that during all that 11 year twilight career...he didnt wanna hurt guys...Time and time again he backed off when he had them a little hurt...he deprived himself of the kind of Hail Mary bomb ruddock unleashed on a compromised Ruddock.....

Ruddock himself doesn't have quite the body of work...if he had another 3-4 devastating kayoes of mid level guys..your David Beys, Tyrell Biggs and Ronaldo Snipes...his knockout credentials would be greater....

Foreman folding Cooney like an accordion was the more satisfying knockout for me than Ruddocls horrific annihilation of Dokes.

My favourite HW kayo is Mercer vs Morrison.

Ruddock KOing Dokes was far more horrifying than Foreman flattening Cooney. Both are great knockouts but come on fellas!! Dokes was on that canvas soft spot for what, 8 minutes? It looked like he died.

How about the IMPACT of that Ruddock punch? Imagine what it might have sounded like at ringside. Scary, indeed.

The way Foreman folded Cooney like an accordion still holds a special place in my heart in fact that whole bill....the doug dewitt and Matthew hilton tussle was very high quality...the whole late 1980s atmosphere the presentation....Great days to be 13 years of age...and seeing this great land of opportunity America on the TV....

As far as sustained heavyweight slapdowns (as opposed to knockouts) the Joseph chingangu v herbie hide fight was unreal.....hide used to freeze worse than Bruno when hit
