RBR - A Sign Bee - Reiya Abe Vs Ren Sasaki

1-Sasaki pressing forward (he did say he would yesterday), and Abe boxing at range behind his jab and looking to counter, high level boxing to begin with, Abe taking the center of the ring and boxing well, Sasaki tries to turn the tables but is backed up, nice body shot from Sasaki, nice left hand from Sasaki, Abe maybe struggling with the speed of Sasaki just a little.

Nice high level stuff, but after the first 30 seconds, the aggression from both cut out as they both tried to get the other to lead

 

2-Abe starting faster this round, pumping out the jab, more high speed chess, and Sasaki runs into a counter left hand and goes down- ruled a slip? More slippery stuff from both, a lot of jabs and little follow up from either, Abe seems to have his timing down and is getting bites from his feints now, a good right hook from Sasaki late in the round

3-Both back to posturing and looking for counters, boxing off their jabs to begin the round, nice stiff jab from Sasaki who tries to follow it up and fails, Sasaki landing nicely but seems to look terrified of being caught, a body jab catches Sasaki off balance, an uppercut seemed to worry Sasaki, nice footwork from Sasaki gets Abe out of position and lands a corker, and I think Abe might be hurt! Abe doing enough to survive there. Good work from Sasaki late on

 

4-Straight into a clinch to begin round 4, seems like Sasaki wants to work on the inside and Abe having none of it, same again, and again, a left from Abe narrowly misses, Sasaki again thwarted when he closes the distance, Abe taking over and Sasaki backing up, Sasaki clinches to slow Abe's momentum, Abe with a straight left hand, Sasaki clinches again

They aren't allowed to cheer and road whatever due to Corona rules, so it's really only applause allowed, has made for some weird stuff since boxing returned to Japan, like Kaji's last fight was in almost complete silence... and add to that Abe fights are rarely entertaining ones
