This is why Calderon needs to unify, so he can silence critics. Yes he is on a decline now, but he won tonight and he would've won even if they didn't stop the fight.

Try not to criticize Pernell Whitaker when Sweet Pea is online. It'll only end in tears.

You defended Pernell more than Sweet Pea did, so better watch out for both of you. lol

I don't consider myself a Pernell Whitaker fan, but I don't believe he wasted his career as a result of taking drugs. He'd had already achieved so much at elite level by that time, and he gave good accounts of himself against very good young versions of Oscar De La Hoya and Tito Trinidad. As Sweet Pea insinuated, perhaps without the drugs he could have extended his career a little more - but his status in Boxing was already secure.

That's what I was triying to say that is He wasn't for His lack of dedication and drugs for the last part of His carrer He could be ranked even more high in the all time rankings, He would beat Hoya and Chavez clearly, and look way better in beating Hurtado that if not for the lucky punch would had loose the fight.

The general consensus among boxing fans is that Whitaker did indeed defeat Chavez clearly. The scorecards were bogus.

I believe Oscar was always going to be trouble for Whitaker at that stage in both men's careers.
