Spence does one of his cavalry charges, jab out like a bayonet with several miniature thrusts but all coming short as Thain just pulls back with ease. Some nice jabs by Thain while circling close and turning Spence. Ineffective swipes at the body by Spence, hitting arms. Long lead right by Thain, just dodged. Spence comes forward behind a turtle shell as Thain backs up to the ropes and jabs. Spence lobs out a few to the body but can't reach. High jabs by Spence, then covering up as Thain answers in kind. Round 3 Some high tosses by Spence, as Thain carousels around him with jabs to the face and hooks to the body. Spence catches him with the odd jab of his own but is significantly out-landed. Thain is putting his jab out softly, just beating Spence to the punch as the latter's jabs go high and wide and pushing him out at arm's length. Thain keeps his distance and jabs out long, missing a fair bit but getting a few square on the abs. Spence isn't touching anything, hooking out high and low with both hands as he comes forward with hunched shoulders and covers up between attacks. Thain is avoiding the corners and tying up strategically when needed. 30-27 Thain
