7 Taniguchi back in control, think Ishizawa is about spent, but he's giving his all is the youngster...amazing effort by both in what has been a ****ing brutal, hard fought, thrilling bout
8- Ishizawa knows he's got to go for broke and that's what he's doing! Taniguchi lines him up and fires back, Ishizawa giving everything he has but a huge combination from Taniguchi...surely a Taniguchi win...
77-74, twice and 78-74 for Taniguchi who takes the UD and books himself a Japanese title fight next year!
Next WBO Asia Pacific Super Flyweight title fight between Tsubasa Murachi (4-0, 3) and former world title challenger Froilan Saludar (30-3-1, 21)
1- Both trying to keep it at range early, Saludar lands right, and then misses with 2 very sloppy ones, and another, but lands another, Murachi struggling to get into this early on despite Saludar not connecting much, Saludar with another good right, A better right from Murachi and Saludar touches down! KD but not hurt. A right from Saludar, a body shot from Murachi and Saludar returns with one of his own, Murachi boxing well behind his jab but not enough of them IMO The KD was a big big one, a 3 point swing on the back of it.
2- Pace increasing now, Murachi with a body shot in the clinch, a huge right from Saludar bounces off Murachi, Saludar seems to be landing the better shots overall but they aren't doing anything to Murachi, nice jabs from the youngster later in the round
3- Similar to round 2, but we are seeing gradually more variation come into Saludar's work, and the pace slightly heading up, nice body shot from Murachi and a big 1-2 from Saludar -snapped the head of Murachi way back, Saludar feeling something late on and bouncing around but not following up his big eye catching moment...too few of them from both men tbh
4-Murachi bringing the pressure with Saludar trying to play the role of counter puncher, and he drops Murachi-Murachi smiles seems more embarrassed than hurt but it wipes out his 10-8. Saludar on the prowl and he's spamming his power shots now, Murachi under pressure, Saludar eats a right but lands one of his own Gonna have to wonder if Murachi's team will read him the riot act here...
5- Murachi again pressing forward, but little success, Saludar's looking a bit unpredictable whilst Murachi is showing little variation and his jab is often falling short, oh there's a new trick from Murachi who goes low and gets an immediate reaction from Saludar, messy end to the round, though both do land a good right in the final seconds
6 Saludar walking around more than punching, trying to old man Murachi who isn't doing much himself...
7- Saludar again backing off a lot, very negative and it won't impress the judges, nice body shot by Murachi, Murachi just about out working a tired Saludar but Saludar unleashes late in the round and sends Murachi down...he beats the 10 count and the bell saves him...he's on wobbly legs as he heads to the corner
8- Saludar boxing and moving, he opens up and lands 2 huge rights, down goes Murachi...and it's over, ref waves it off People rushing to assist Murachi who is then put on a stretcher. Hoping the kid is fine, think the stretcher is a precaution more than anything else though. Brutal finish
Main event time Japanese Super Bantamweight title bout, pitting champion Yusaku Kuga (18-3-1, 11) Vs Yosuke Fujihara (18-6, 5)
1 Fujihara starting fast and gets on the offensive...OOPS! Down he goes...he gets up and is dropped again! Up...wobbles...ref waves it off, this is OVAH Kuga sees this off early!
Just going ti add - Murachi IS FINE, he's spoken to the media, posted on Social media, no issues at the moment, seems to have been a precaution only
