The rise in interest in Higa and the fact I ****ing love Ishimoto and Kuga made me want to do this one. Been told Taka will sort the footage of the show from the broadcast too!

1-Higa coming forward immediately, a right hand up top from Higa lands, Higa with a body shot, the Romangon of Okinawa is not wasting time here, Diocos trying to disuade Higa with a jab, a bit better from Diocos who lets his right hand go, Higa continues pressing, nasty body shot from Higa, Diocos cornered and Higa looks for a big assualt but Diocos clinches. Diocos has felt the power and looks clinch, body shot from Higa, and holding from Diocos, nasty flurry from Higa shakes Diocos and another body shot. The Filipino clinches to the bell. 10-9 Higa

 

2-Higa back on the front foot and Diocos is being pushed around until he's forced to hold, ref might get sick of the holding soon as it's pretty damned regular, Higa backs Diocos on to the ropes and Diocos does well to get away, body shots from Higa forces Diocos to hold again, Diocos has a little bit of confidence but quickly gets punsihed with Higa tagging him, nasty body shot again from Higa and Diocos's clinches now having less success at tying Higa up. 20-18

 

3-Higa with a STIFF jab that snaps Diocos' head back, Diocos with a couple of body shots but there's nothing on them, solid bodu blow from Higa,Higa unloading vicious uppercutts and Diocos tries to spoil, Higa not having it and continues to let his shots go, Diocos swaying to avoid shots but can't slow Higa's attack, a punishing round for Diocos! 30-27

 

4-Higa again with the hot start and Diocos again forced to hold and fight back in desperation, another spiteful body shot from Higa, Diocos is backed on to the ropes and Higa goes to town again, Diocos is showing his durability but taking a bit of a beating and Higa is finding all sorts of holes now, big assault and Diocos id clearly wearing away, theres nothing coming back from Diocos and Higa continues to let shots go....Diocos down and the referee immediately aves it off! TKO4 Higa!

Next- Yasutaka Ishimoto (29-8, 8) v Yusaku Kuga (13-2-1, 9) II - For the Japanese Super Bantamweight title

The bout sees Ishimoto defending the title against the man he beat for the then vacant belt in late 2015 (when it was vacated by Yukinori Oguni). Ishimoto has made 2 defenses of the belt (in very fan friendly bouts) whilst Kuga is the mandatory challenger, earning that right when he destroyed Jonathan Baat at the Strongest Korakuen

This will be the first Champion Carnival bout of 2017!
