1-Masaki looking to ease his way in behind his jab, Morales coming in with his own jab, a right hand misses from Morales, Morales showing good patience and picking his counters, a body shot from Masaki gets through! Down goes Morales, he looks like he's going to get up...but doesn't even try...the body shot has completely taken it all from him, he's sat on stool still looking for a breath

 

Main event next Masaru Sueyoshi (15-1, 10) Vs Ribo Takahata (13-7-1, 5) for the Japanese Super Featherweight title!

 

1-Takahata applying pressure...and I remember why I rarely enjoy a Sueyoshi fight, Sueyoshi jabbing on the back foot and moving a lot, a pretty clumsy start to this one with Sueyoshi looking scare and Takahata looking old and slow...stiff jabs from Sueyoshi, a right hand from Sueyoshi is partially blocked

 

2-Jab, jab move from Sueyoshi, trudge slowly and miss from Takahata...crowd get excited when Takahata got close but had no real success,

 

3-More of the same, Sueyoshi jabbing and moving, with an odd right hand, Takahata trying to come forward and occassional lands but usually takes a right hand for his desire, Sueyoshi digging the body a lil now,

 

4-The speed and youth of Sueyoshi is too much for Takahata who is trying but isn't quick enough, good enough or sharp enough, crowd do cheer when something clean lands and it does have the feeling of a bout which could end in weird circumstances...but it's pretty hard to enjoy so far

 

5-Fight does seem to be heating up, not sure if Sueyoshi is just more confident or slowing but Takahata is getting more chances to counter, Takahata seemed rocked for a second, but he landed a huge right hand moments later,

6-Takahata does seem to be getting more success but it's not an enjoyable watch

 

7-Sueyoshi continuing to stand his ground more and some nice body shots from Takahata,

 

8-Takahata pressing the action, Sueyoshi still trying to move but his technical form is going and Takahata's rugged approach is getting him some moments, a right hook fromTakahata has Sueyoshi on the retreat, Sueyoshi lands his own bomband finally the hall are awake!

 

9-Takahata tagged clean but he takes it and comes forward, Takahata's willignness to go forward has been good but his lack of speed has been horrible and make his forward march sluggish, good body shot, takahata with a head shot, a very pro Sueyoshi crowd screaming when he lands

 

10-Final round, Takahata almost certainly needs a stoppage. Stakahata sets off fast, Sueyoshi fires back, they are both trading, big right from Takahata and Sueyoshi holds, another big right from Takahata, Sueyoshi standing his ground and lands two solid shots, another right from Takahata, Takahata is putting it all on the line, Sueyoshi holds, Takahata continues to try and turn this all around, last 30 seconds, Sueyoshi with a big body shot,

VERY good final round...just a shame about the previous 9

 

Sueyoshi gets the decsion...not in a rush to see his first defense...
