Yuta Nakagawa (21-4-1, 12) v Yasutaka Ishimoto (30-9, 9)

I'll be honest...I have a massive man crush on Ishimoto! He's almost certainly coming near the end of his career, though I think we've been saying that for a while. He was a brilliant action fighter at his best, who lacked power but had the skills and know how to defeat Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. He also holds wins over Shingo Wake, Kenta Nakagawa, Yu Kawaguchi and was unlucky Vs Yukinori Oguni. Asfor Nakagawa there's a lot less of note of hin record, with losses to Kohei Oba and Breilor Teran standing out.

 

And after some delays we're off!

1-
Ishimoto pressing the action early and Nakagawa has to push him away, Nakagawa lunges in and misses everything, Ishimoto back on the front foot. Very disjointed start here with little landing in the opening minute. Ishimoto against backs up his man and a nice little combination. Nakagawa now firing back and lands his own combination. Nakagawa getting the better of it now and looks to have found a way to fight to his game plan, nice body shots from Ishimoto, Nakagawa has such a weird uppercutt and it keeps landing. 10-9 Nakagawa.

 

2-Ishimoto forces Nakagawa back but the man in red shorts lands a solid blow of his own. Ishimoto forces his man back again but can't get much off. Nakagawa with a nice combination. Ishimoto looked like he was hurt. Ref takes Ishimoto over to the doctor...couldn't see any major damage....and still can't, fight goes on. Nakagawa with a body shot. Big effort from Nakagawa who lands a huge right, Ishimoto trying to defend. Ishimoto attempts to go to the body but Nakagawa is back in charge. Big combination from Nakagawa who is turning it on and looks too freshand too young for Ishimoto. Ishimoto tries to steal the round but too little too late...amazing atmosphere in the hall!

Really looks like father time has got Ishimoto

Ishimoto again starting fast, Nakagawa having less success in his fight back, more fight in here from Ishimoto, body shots from Nakagawa and Ishimoto is being forced to grit his teeth as he comes forward, huge left from Nakagawa, big assault from Nakagawa who is always landing the more meaning ful shots including a short counter right hand. shimoto is throwing the kitchen sink at Nakagawa! What a ****ing fighter Ishimoto is! Big body shot from Ishimoto! A big left from Ishimoto!

Ishimoto bleeding from the nose but that was his best round so far!

 

4-A slower start here, but you can almost feel that there's a pressure point which will be hit and the fight will break out soon...Ishimoto trying to pressure Nakagawa who looks to use his feet, Nakagawa not having the success he had earlier but Ishimoto has slowed drastically from the last round. Ishimoto coming forward but falling short, Nakagawa shoving his jab in Ishimoto's face, Nakagawa has a nice attack and Ishimoto waves him in - Total ****ing baddass!, big attack by Ishimoto and Nakagawa respondes, another big flurry from both as they trade! You can SEE the anger on Ishimoto's face as he looks for some huge head shots!

Nakagawa again looking to start the round on his bike, Ishimoto pressing, Ishimoto lands a big right hand, the pressure from the form champion continues and he gets a good flurry off, Nakagawa has slowed massively from his hot start, Ishimoto continues coming forward, body shot from Ishimoto, Nakagawa holds, uppercutt followed by a big right hand from Ishimoot, Nakagawa returns fire with 2 body shots, Ishimoto again tells his man to come and fight, Ishimoto wth a flurry up close, HUGE right from Ishimoto, flurry back from Nakagawa who eats another right hand, firing bombs at each other late. IShimoto round!

 

6-Ishimoto starting well, Nakagawa forced to respond, Ishimoto fires back, great start to the round, Ishimoto lands a low blow on the ref's blind side, Nakagawa wth a good combination, Ishimoto seemed to hurt Nakagawa who backs off, HUGE right from Ishimoto, Nakagawa fires back but there's little on his shots now, an almost possesed look in Ishimoto's eyes as he continues to march forward and attack. Nakagawa on the move, but this was another big round for Ishimoto!

Ishimoto pressing, Nakagawa firing back, uppercut from Nakagawa and Ishimoto was hurt by it! Ishimoto holds. Now Ishimoto back on the attack, blood trickling down the veterans face from his nose (wouldn't be an Ishimoto fight with out a nose bleed!), HUGE right from Ishimoto, Nakagawa eats it and fires back, 1-2 from Ishimoto, Nakagawa spamming his right hand, Ishimoto eats them then marches forward, a flurry of shots from Ishimoto up close, Nakagawa returns the favour then fires off some jabs, 1-2-1-2 from Nakagawa. A good round for the younger man.

Blood is now smearing across Ishimoto's face, could this coiming round be the final one of his career?

Ishimoto on the front foot, Nakagawa ties him up, nice jabs from Nakagawa, Ishimoto throwing but missing, Nakagawa spoiling a lot now, Ishimoto with a solid right hand and Nakagawa holds, a good right from Nakagawa, Ishimoto continues coming forward and looking for a tear up, "Yutah" chant, Ishimoto with a body shot, Nakagawa again holds, big body shot from Ishimoto as Nakagawa goes up top, a series of body shots from Ishimoto, Ishitmoto going all out in the final moments and he's probably won the round but lost the fight...

 

First judge goes to Nakagawa
Second judge goes to Ishimoto
...third judge....Ishimoto

Don't agree with that personally...had it 5-3 to Nakagawa (who looks broken after the scores), 4-4 at worst for the youngster.
