Toyoshima out working the Thai in round 1, much the same in round 2 but he's been getting through with a better rate of body shots in the second and it seems like he's going to wear his man down with those gut busters, a hard right upstairs from Toyoshima backs the Thai up and another body shot
3-Toyoshima applying pressure, but the Thai creating space and avoiding the big shots thrown his way, Thai slips, oonnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee twooooooooooooooooo drops the Thai he gets up but the referee waves it off! Highlight of that was the commentator!
Next - Kenji Ono (11-2-1, 6) v Masashi Tada (11-5-2, 7) Kenji Ono of "that fight with Jun Takigawa" fame takes on takes on Tada...who is best known for losing to Go Odaira in a Japanese title fight oin 2014, this is only his 3rd bout since then.
2-More of the same, better success from Ono but Tada is fighting back 3-The pace and action is heating up round by round and Tada is holding his feet more, Ono backing up late in the round, hard right counter by Ono
4-Tada now the man hunting, and it's a better round for him. Ono having his moments, but Tada looks better when he's on the front foot
5-Ono retook the iniative there and seemed to out work his man, but a few close rounds so all to play for still
6-Ono looking to go big here and is all out aggressive, Tada trying to spoil and smother but Ono is unrelenting, big body shot by Ono, very little coming back at him, huge Ono round
7-Tada started the round well but Ono fires back, Ono working the body well, Tada trying to wrestling again, all out inside war breaking out now! This is pulsating action with Ono getting the better off it. Tada breaks away complaining of a headbutt, no cut, and they restart, Ono to the body and another headclash, Tada using using his feet but getting dragged back into a figt, big combinations from Ono with Tada on the ropes, waht a round! What is it with Ono having amazing round 7's?
8-Ono applying pressure and Tada trying to avoid a fight, Tada comes forward in short bursts but is quickly put on the back foot, Tada trying to fight off the ropes and Ono just pushes him backwards, and we have another war as the two trade blows! Neither looking like they are hurting the other but this is great fun to watch. Tada resets before they begin to wrestle, more wrestling as they head towards the bell. Tada had his moments but Ono win for me...Tada celebrates, Ono looks dejected so I might have this one very wrong...
Next - Koki Eto (21-4-1, 16) v Marzon Cabilla (16-15-1, 5) Should be a mismatch but with Eto....you never quite know
1-Eto looks a foot taller than his Filipino foe who looks like a midget (apparently only 3.5" difference but looks at least double that!), Eto presing the fight but Cabilla getting in and out well and landing single body shots, Eto's balance is typically all over the place, more pressure from Eto and more countering from Cabilla, Eto looking fot a big right hand, they trade with Eto on the ropes, body shots from Eto, Cabilla throwing hayemakers in despeation, body body and more body work from Eto, Eto is hammering the body of Cabilla but Cabilla returns the favour.
2-Eto all out on the offensive, and he gets turned, Cabilla lets his hands go with Eto on the ropes, Cabilla turns it back on and down goes the Filipino! Body shot finally dropped him, but he's up and makes it to his corner after the bell Was an uppercutt to the body that dropped him
