Yohei Tobe (12-2-1, 8) v Hajime Nagai (15-9-2, 5)

Tobe is the Japanese dark horse at 115lbs, plagued by injuries but very talented. Sadly it's almost 2 years since he went to South Africa, very pissed off, and took out Luzuko Siyo in 7. He beat Kohei Kono in his 3rd bout and Wandee Singwancha in his second bout (both back in 2011) and was tipped for HUGE things,,,but has failed to live up to expectations. Now aged 30 it's do or die for the Misako man...who should have been a star

 

1-Tobe on the offensive early on, lovely sharp jab, Nagai charges in and is caught by an ultra sharp counter that drops him hard, he's back up but still looking shaken, Tobe pressuring smartly, hard jab by Tobem double jab by Tobe, Nagai holds, hard right by Tobe on the chin, Nagai warned about his holding, right to the body from Tobe, Tobe is continuing this pressure smartly, Nagai tries to fire off something and lands with some tippy tapy shizz, uppercutt from Tobe, hooks from Tobe.

**** you not, Tobe could have been VERY special with some luck on his side

 

2-Tobe on the offensive and he has Nagai in all sorts of problems, Nagai landsa right hand out of desperation, Tobe's pressure is so calculated and intelligent it's brilliant to watch, a big right hand by Nagai but he's ragged,Tobe jabbing through the guard of Nagai, stiff jab buckles Nagai's knees, Nagai goes back to holding Tobe like his lover, good counter right by Tobe

 

3-Tobe fighting well behind his jab, Nagai trying to work in the clinch, counter left hook by Tobe spins Nagai's head, counter right by Tobe, a jab buckles Nagai's legs, Nagai resorts to holding again, hard jab from Tobe, Nagai warned again for the holding, Tobe exploding with acombination - uppercut to end it was a beaut, Nagai bleeding from the nose, Tobe mixing up head and body shots, referee should perhaps think about stopping this if he gets a chance, Tobe is working his man over, Tobe backs off and Nagai really doesn't have the confidence to do much in return.

 

4-Nagai tries to start fast and is fighting in the clinch when he gets the chance, Tobe's pace has dropped off a bit and he's boxing well behind his jab, wild right hand by Tobe misses, body shot from Tobe, Nagai backs off, stiff Tobe jab, Tobe almost looks a bit bored now and not going for the finish, Nagai reaching and not being countered too often, Tobe lands a gorgeous right, Nagai trying to fight back and is dropped again.

Nagai's best round...until he got dropped....from a counter right...to the back of the head...

 

5-Nagai comes out swinging! Tobe on the retreat and Nagai has obviously been sent out with the instruction of showing something, Tobe moves back up the gears, brutal body shot, and another, Nagai is beign taken apart again as if Tobe was offended that Nagai would try and fight back, Nagai lands a couple of jabs, Nagai's nose dripping blood into his mouth, down again! Towel in as the referee waves it off.

You hav the skills to beat a tosser like Yafai, and on your day beat Ancajas...but you need to sort your **** out pal stay busy, keep your head on and get it all to click! Main event coming up Masayuki Ito (22-1-1, 11) v Vergil Puton (17-9, 8)

Supposedly a world title prelude, Ito will be getting a shot at the WBO Super Featherweight title later in the year, after the Lomachenko/Linares siutation gets sorted (which will open the door for Beltran Vs Arakawa as well)...Ito Vs Evgeny Chuprakov, Miguel Roman or Christopher Diaz I suspect

 

1-Both looking cautious to begin with and using their jabs to judge range, Ito has the edge in reach and lands the best early jab, Puton looking a bit slower than Ito and misses crudely with a power shot, Ito's jab is backing up Puton, body shot from Ito, 1-2 by Ito, Puton defending well and firing a good single every so often, solid jab by Puton, a sweeping left hook from Puton, Ito rocks Puton! He's following it up with big body shots, Puton sees off the storm and makes it to the bell.

 

2-Puton showing some early ambition here and taking the fight to Ito, Ito with a good right hand, and another, and a 2-1 from Ito, a tap to the body from Ito sends Puton down (like literally an over-reaching body jab - very weird and Puton obviously not hurt at all), Ito with a right hand up top, Puton backing up and Ito connects with another right, a right from Puton now, left hookcutt from Ito lands nicely, Ito stiff arms Puton like a child as Puton hits the air, straigth right by Ito

 

3-Hard jab by Ito, Puton tries to march his man down, messy action now as the two get too close, Puton swinging some wild hooks, body shot by Ito, HUGE right from Ito and he looks tofollow it up but Puton holds, body shot Ito, another big right by Ito, and another, he has his range down now, another one gets through and another, body shot, back uptop, Ito it banging that right hand against Puton's head at will, two more connect, Puton really trying to fight back but lacks the tools

 

4-Both fighting at range a bit more, Ito looking more determined to find holes and Puton looking busier, they trade rabbit shots in the clinch, a right hand by Ito, body shot by Ito, uppercut by Ito, and another, Puton learning that Ito can fight up close too, another uppercut from Ito, nice right from Puton, a better one from Ito, body shot from Ito, Puton lands some hooks late, but mostly glancing

 

5-Puton holding his feet early but he's punished for it with a right hand up top, Puton letting his hands go but struggling to connect clean with anything, hard right by Ito but the follow up misses, both miss wildely, body shot Ito connects, another Ito body shot, one back from Puton, uppercut by Ito, HUGE right by Ito he looks to follow it up and connects with a combination on Puton, the Filipino is tough! 6-Ito on the offensive and has Puton on the ropes early, but he can't punish the Filipino, Puton wildly throwing, HUGE right by Ito and Puton literally shrugs in his face, a right and left hook from Ito, a right to the body from Ito, Puton with an uppercut, Puton bull rushing Ito, they trade rights, another 2 big right hands from Ito, and another, and a glancing right to the body from Ito.
