I like @Fogger A lot of the other scorers will occasionally throw out a real sideways crazy card and I'm not sure I've ever seen him do that.
Thanks for the shout out bru. I always compared my scores after the fight to others: If they get called into question about a round scored and they answer we can all learn from each other. I enjoy seeing the wide range we often get in close fights with our ESB scorecards. I am of mind that none of us are perfect; however, nor are the professionals but here we can have heated and educational exchanges of WHY. The breakdown happens when we all decide we are 100% correct and suddenly close our minds off to the challenge. Lots of folks give @CST80 a difficult time if he has a different scorecard yet he will take the time to explain why he scores a round the way he did if You ASK and don’t just start Szhitt-ING all over his scorecard.
While I disagree with much of this, you're call for judges to justify their scores to some degree intrigues me. Often, it's a complete mystery how they arrived at said scores, and if they were ever called upon to explain themselves, then the house of cards might come tumbling down.
The judge's scorecards for certain fights in particular really irritate me to an irrational extent. Bivol vs Craig Richards is one of them. I can't believe anyone had that as close as the judges had it. Two only had it for Bivol by a round IIRC and the other card was way too close too. If you want to be generous to Richards you can give him 3 rounds. If you want to be extremely so you can give him 4 but you can make an equally strong argument for Bivol winning every round and 10-2 Bivol
Even better, I'd like to hear them give this justification with the other judges giving theirs at the same time in fights where 2 judges are in agreement with the score of the fight and one judges card took place from fantasyland with a terrible scorecard. Maybe that way corrective action can be done or the jduge can be banned
maybe they should have 3 unofficial judges. each one sitting right next to an official judge. same vantage point. maybe some celebrity or retired fighter that will do it for the ringside seat. i think it would add to the entertainment value of the show, so makes the product better. one more thing for fans to argue about. because of the fighters positions, theres always a judge who cant see all the punches landing at any one time. the network should just buy the seat and do it on their own. that way the commission gets no say. just giving viewers insight they cant get anywhere else.
