Abdullaev is RIPPING hard left hooks into Lundy's sides now, after having mostly just slashed & slapped with them. Now he's turning his hip over when he digs them, and is doubling up on them. Lundy is hanging in his chest, trying to jam him up, firing signal-flare jabs up into the bottom of his chin like an island castaway, but Abdullaev is ducking 100% of his right crosses and dodging 100% of his left hooks with backward leans, all while consistently prodding him in the gut with a sneaky low jab. Zero power shots landed for Lundy in the eighth, seriously.

Hasn't fought yet. They just showed Altunkaya getting hands wrapped in the dressing room during a between rounds break a few minutes ago. He looks confident. That poor, sweet, little summer child.

 

Round 9

Abdullaev is leaning himself over an invisible clothesline, draping himself like so much laundry to his right as Lundy comes battling hard with orthodox jabs & 1-2s up top. Lundy putting everything into his right hands, driving them from his right hip (nearly as far back as his own buttocks) up into the much taller Russian's head, aiming square between his eyes, then unloading windmilling combos once he gets inside. Creditable determination from Lundy, but his offensive surge here is mostly sound & fury signifying nothing. Very little scoring; Abdullaev is even laughing at him. Abdullaev isn't throwing anything back, however, except for some lobs at the body while backing up. Abdullaev is bleeding from his right ear, possibly got torn by the lace on Lundy's glove when he was hammering up top with a windmilled shot.
