RCC Boxing: Zaur Magomedaliyevich Abdullayev vs. Henry Lundy & Denis Lebedev vs. Nezir Altunkaya RBR

I was starting to wonder if my stream had cut to some random movie channel showing a Russian crime film...but this has all just been a very elaborate promo for Lebedev as some kind of urban superhero.

 

Did anybody ever give a clear answer in here as to whether Provodnikov did in fact retire in that segment earlier? I know some peeps in here can understand Russian..

Guy's mandible probably measures even greater than Ron Taylor (hulking character actor, played villainous roles, best remembered as henchman "Lothar" in The Rocketeer)

Would probably snap any standard issue tape measure, ffs.

 

Round 1

Altunkaya is stalking, pacing himself, cutting off the ring very subtly with a quickened step trotting rightward to head off Altunkaya when he attempts rapidly circling to his left. Very deliberate craftsmanship in there from Lebedev, nothing wasted. Not many punches thrown yet either way a couple of minutes in. Lebedev is waving the southpaw jab up and down, making Altunkaya "watch the birdie". Lebedev finally uncorks a power shot, right hook downstairs, grazing. Altunkaya is now full-on running away, back kissing the ropes as he goes, bouncing off his toes. Altunkaya tries a reach-in jab between the gloves and just barely ducks back away from a short overhand left counter from Lebedev. Diving left uppercut on the stomach from Lebedev at the bell.

Round 2

Altunkaya is pussyfooting away from Lebedev, jabbing into his guard, using lots of side to side juking to limit his available target space. Lebedev isn't headhunting, though - just popping off enough right jabs upstairs to keep Altunkaya guessing and then WHAM-O, nice hard shoveling blow on the body and then a left uppercut that clips his lower jaw. Down goes Altunkaya to a knee. Up and running. Lebedev in pursuit; Altunkaya leaps in and ties up. Break. Lebedev is jabbing the body, then fakes a right hook off the jab up top and instead dives in and DRILLS a hard left into the abdomen of Altunkaya. Soft right jab up top, lulling Altunkaya, followed by a hard, short overhand left.
