Ugh, I hate being right. Talalakin is either corrupt (and was planted there in order to "nudge" things Canelo's way) or a terrible judge.

 

Incidentally that was Kuznetsov's second professional draw; the first coming against Evgeny Smirnov who is currently 13-0-1 and challenging for the WBC International Silver featherweight title in a couple of weeks.

 

Alexey Evchenko vs. Bruno Leonardo Romay, 10 rounds @ light middleweight

 

Interesting, the "house guy" in this one has a relatively awful record of 16-11-1 (6) and they've flown in an opponent from Argentina with a superficially better 21-5 (18); you'd expect typically somebody with the former numbers to be the foreigner being fed to somebody with the latter.

 

So in other words, Kuz makes the "must watch" list.

 

"Rocky" Evchenko is a wild motherfucker.

Rare to see a Russian with so much experience just straight up brawling like Kimbo Slice with zero technique.

"El Zar" is content to shell up and dribble out some lightly backhanded southpaw jabs - although it might just have been enough for him to have taken a commanding edge in clean blows landed.

 

I'd almost rather just have them both stand perfectly still and judge their chest, bicep and shoulder blade pieces than have the boxing match continue.

Both guys' tattoos are far more interesting than anything they're doing in the ring.

 

Ohhh yeah, thought I'd remembered seeing another "big" name on the card when I last glanced at it earlier in the week, aside from the main event principals and Lebedev. Huh.

 

Romay got manhandled and rocked a few times in the second.
