Minor step up in class for 6'1" southpaw Arutyunyan, whose previous best opponent was Montenegriin journeyman Dilan Prašović. Arutyunyan dropped Prašović thrice on the way to a KO1 victory, the fastest anybody has stopped Prašović including Isaac Chamberlain.

Kudukhov was a stronger presence in the amateurs (defeating the likes of Filip Hrgović and Artur Szpilka) but has a couple of semi-decent pro victories over ancient Guillermo Jones and Ali Baloyev while losing to compatriot prospects Basir Abakarov and Georgiy Yunovidov.

    Round 1

Arutyunyan consistently scoring right jabs between Kudukhov's eyes and slugging low with the left below the ribs. Kudukhov keeps marching forward pumping out straight combos, or spamming something suspiciously similar to Usyk's patented Ivan punch. That's copyright infringement, Vit! :nono: You wouldn't want to damage Russo-Ukrainian relations, would you? :sisi1

    10-9 Arutyunyan

    Round 2

Arutyunyan is exhaling forcefully as he slams the southpaw jab out into either the wrists or forehead of Kudukuov, depending on whether the stockier man is standing outside waiting or ducking in attempting to flurry on the body. Fairly consistent pressure from Kudukhov; he just isn't able to get inside and make anything happen. Arutyunyan's stiff busy jab keeping him honest.

    10-9 Arutyunyan

    20-18 Arutyunyan

    Round 3

Arutyunyan starting to gas a bit? Clinching frequently now after just a couple of jabs as Kudukhov advances on him. Overhand combinations by Kudukhov, trying to bash down or reach around the guard of Arutyunyan. Kudukhov throwing & landing more for the first time so far today. All jab & grab from Arutyunyan, who isn't able to take more than a couple of steps to get clear before Kudukhov is in his chest once more.

    10-9 Kudukhov

    29-28 Arutyunyan

    Round 4

Arutyunyan is bending to his side and delivering powerful hooks into Kudukhov's sides, knees and elbows bent for maximum impact as they are turned over. Kudukhov refuses to be slowed down and grinds his way in, sometimes using his crossed forearms to both protect his face and plow Arutyunyan backward. Kudukhov ducks under a two-piece and grabs Arutyunyan around the waist. Hard body shots by Arutyunyan, and a bevy of jabs in the face. Arutyunyan has gotten his volume back up. Kudukhov's pressure pretty effective except that he isn't getting many shots off cleanly before they clinch. Consistently getting to his preferred range inside and roughing Arutyunyan up with physicality, though.

    10-9 Arutyunyan, close

    39-37 Arutyunyan

Kudukhov's trainer is rapidly spinning a towel in his face to cool him off on his stool. Kudukhov is blowing hard, and seems to have a small cut dead center on the bridge of his nose (probably from walking into Arutyunyan's hard precise jabs).

    Round 5

Lots of wrestling. Both tired. Arutyunyan is falling in, letting his forearms ram into Kudukhov, not even jabbing anymore. Arutyunyan loading up on lefts on the body. Kudukhov punching even less, just clawing up top with weak overhands that get sprayed off Arutyunyan's shoulders or fists as they collide into clinches. Sloppiest round so far.

    10-9 Arutyunyan, close

    49-46 Arutyunyan

    Round 6

Arutyunyan is starting to take an extra wide step outside and aim his jab to impale Kudukhov as he comes in. This combined with the heavy lefts downstairs is helping Arutyunyan reassert control - but like a zombie, Kudukhov never stops pressing in, and the rough grappling clinches are taking a physical toll on Arutyunyan, oftentimes ending with him bent over backward against the ropes before the ref separtes them. Nothing but hardscrabble overhand flurries from Kudukhov, most blocked.

    10-9 Arutyunyan

    59-55 Arutyunyan

    Round 7

Arutyunyan is backed into a corner as Kudukhov takes initiative with a series of shots on the face while up on his toes. Arutyunyan walks him onto a neat left uppercut on the bottom of the jaw. First twenty seconds is very good two-way action, but they can't help themselves. It devolves into a headlock-laden clinch-fest and the commentators both chuckle in disappointment transcending language. Good four-piece by Kudukhov, wrapping a pair each of looping rights and left hooks around the gloves of Arutyunyan. Uppercuts spammed by Arutyunyan while leaning in against Kudukhov. Rabbit punch by Kudukhov in the clinch blatantly in front of the ref, who looks almost amused as he separates them and tells him not to do that. Their arms are too entangled for either to punch for most of the last minute. Kudukhov shoves Arutyunyan against the ropes and tries to flurry but is yanked in close again.

    10-9 Arutyunyan, close

    69-64 Arutyunyan

    Round 8

Arutyunyan is starting off commanding the RCC logo in the middle of the ring, driving right hookercuts up into Kudukhov's mouth. Lead rights and left hooks paired by Kudukhov diving in, met halfway by Arutyunyan left uppercuts. Kudukhov bangs away on the guard from different angles while pushing Arutyunyan into the ropes. Body shots by Arutyunyan in between clinches. Wild hooks up top by Kudukhov, blocked or landing behind the head as Arutyunyan bows down. Both look rady to collapse from exhaustion, but they're firing hard in spurts nonetheless. Nice cinematic moment after the ref breaks up a clinch where they step together and Kudukhov lands a right hand at the same time Arutyunyan lands a straight left, both staggering away from each other as they connect simultaneously. More clinching. Ref is getting a good upper body workout prying them apart.

    10-9 Arutyunyan, close

    79-73 Arutyunyan

If you were really reaching for Kudukhov you could maybe see this a draw. Arutyunyan should get the nod though, IMO, if not as wide as on my card. His face is also much clearer, while Kudukhov's is riddled with damage.
