Aldea needs to throw more. He's finding a home for the left hand but only throwing one punch at a time, for the most part.

Yeah, .500 or no, that's a bold choice for a debut.

    Round 7

Umurzaqov is caught by some more of those pop-up right hooks and left crosses strung together by Aldea doing his prairie dog impersonation, while Umurzaqov is lazily jabbing his way in. Umurzaqov's nose is now bloodied. The crowd is getting restless, attempting to egg on Umurzaqov, but at this point I doubt even a literal fire under his ass could light a fire under his ass. He's just a low-motivation guy, period, it seems. Umurzaqov is stepping in with Aldea, both jabbing, both landing beneath the point of the chin and bending each other's necks back like Pez dispensers or Rock'Em Sock'Em Robots. Aldea, however, is also landing stuff besides the jab. Not a ton of it, but...enough.

    10-9 Aldea

    67-65 Umurzaqov

Aldea needs to sweep the last three for the upset, on my card.

Yeah, I'd call his performance lazy were he not a downright worker bee compared with Umurzaqov.

    Round 8

Umurzaqov is tentatively heel-toeing his way counterclockwise, as if snuffing out a cigarette with his shoe. Pawing a creampuff southpaw jab. Aldea is stepping toward him, stopping a pace off, posing and leaning to either side, feinting, and then springing up with jabs when Umurzaqov shows any slight reaction to leave an opening. Aldea eating a few long jabs on the way in but landing some of his own.

    10-9 Aldea

    76-75 Umurzaqov

    Round 9

Umurzaqov is throwing big split 1-2s now, the jab thrown straight and the left going overhand, but Aldea is ducking the former and receding from the latter, with plenty of time for reconnaissance as the lefts sail down toward him. Umurzaqov is hopping in and out with his feed spread further than shoulder width apart. Umurzaqov pushing a light jab, getting braver, lashing down with a left but only hitting the spine of a quickly bent over Aldea, if anything. Lots of posing and peering up between his wrists from a crouch by Aldea, but he does manage to slice in close with a jab and duck a 1-2 from Umurzaqov.

    10-9 Aldea

    85-85

Having a hard time deciding which unbeaten Russian prospect has looked worst on this card: Umurzaqov or Kurbanov.

    Round 10

Umurzaqov is flat out running, and seems to startle himself when his buttocks hit the ropes, doing an infantile spreading wide of the arms with an "uh-oh" look on his face...when meanwhile Aldea is doing nothing but crouch and stalk him with some feints and the very occasional light body shot. Umurzaqov is a disgrace, man, RCC needs to drop his ass, this is the main ****ing event. Aldea is now lunging at him with a 1-2 and Umurzaqov is just running away to make him miss, then diving in to clinch. Aldea is able to fake a right jab up top dead-on at the nose, then cut diagonally down and to the right, and stuff the jab instead up into Umurzaqov's Adam's apple from below. Umurzaqov clinching and then pushing apart with wild right hooks, missing.

    10-9 Aldea

    95-94 Aldea
