rd by rd linares diaz

here we go

round 1

 

Diaz comes out agressive and its obvious he has awesome speed and he also has a reach advantage that he is using well with his jab. He lands a big shot around 1 min in and hurts linares. the ref seperates them too quickly and diaz comes right back at him. now Linares is more composed and hits diaz well to keep him in check. 2 minutes in Diaz is still more agressive and looking faster. throwing alot, landing a few. Linares fighting on the back foot and still doesn't have his timing down. 30 seconds left. diaz lands a good left uppercut that linares takes well. they clinch at the end of the round and Diaz falls over but not a kd

10-9 diaz

 

round 2

the come out fighting in the center. Diaz still the agressor but Linares standing his ground more. Diaz flurries but misses almost all his shot. Linares gets 2 good left hook counter in. Linares' defence is starting to show now. Diaz more gunshy. another left hook counter at the 90 sec mark for linares. another one. they are not powerful but they are landing. now Diaz is gunshy so Linares jabs him a couple. 30 seconds left. Diaz flurries but all blocked. Linares not punching much but controlling the pace.

round 3

Linares comes out javbing. Diaz alot more gunshy. His right hand is open for the left hook counter. Linares jabs to te body. Diaz falls over 50 seconds in. Slip but i think a punch came in bad camera angle. Linares rips a combination on Diaz's body. Linares dominating imo blocking and slipping everything. Linares lands a jab. 1 min left. Linares fighting very well off the back foot. Diaz flurries but ineffective. now diaz lands a good left uppercut. Linares takes it well. Diaz goes to the body and lands. now Diaz is ducking after the fight hand to avoid the counter and its working. Diaz misses with a right cross and gets countered to the body. Then he runs at Linares who avoid him completely and Diaz looks off balance.

Closer round. 10-9 Linares

 

round 4

30 seconds in not much happened yet. Diaz jumps in with a leading right hand and Linares counters him with a left right combo and knocks him down! BIG KD. Diaz gets up. Diaz wants to go toe to toe after getting up but Linares is landing alot more. Now linares backs off a little as he looks a little tired. Diaz keeps running in and linares avoids him. Diaz falls over. No KD. Diaz very agressive but its like a bull and a matador. 30 seconds left linares lands a left uppercut. Linares lands a lead right hand and some body shots before the bell.

10-8 linares

 

round 5

30 seconds in Diaz is still agressive and trying to cut off the ring. Linares is careful even though he scored the kd in round 4. Linares has good defence but very low workrate so far. Linares Counters a jab with a right hand. Diaz throwing the jab and trying to use his reach now. 1:30 left. Diaz comes in and flurries at linares but IMO almost all blocked or slipped. Linares very inactive but Diaz very ineffective. Ring generalship definately to Linares. Linares counters a lead right with a left hook.

10-9 linares.

 

round 6

both come out jabbing. Diaz goes to the body and lands a jab. Linares comes back with his own jab to the body. Linares counters a right hand with a left hook. controls the range very well. 2 min left. Diaz swinging wildly hitting air. So far Diaz wining on agression cause Linares hasnt thrown enough. Now 1 min left. Linares lands a jab. Linares has good defence but didn't throw much so far. 20 seconds left. Linares lands a right cross on the inside. lands a left counter at the bell.

Round 6 could go either way. I'll give it 10-9 Linares but it felt like an early Taylor Hopkins rounds with Diaz as Taylor and Linares as Hopkins.

 

rounds 7
Diaz comes out quickly and lands 2 good right hands on Linares. Diaz super agressive and Linares looks like its getting to him now. Linares holding and Diaz hitting with his free hand. 1:40 left and Linares lands on the inside. Diaz still the agressor but now he doesn't look as off balance as before. Linares double jabs and then lands a right hand. not very powerful but still clean. Now Diaz is jabbing. So is Linares. 30 sec left. Diaz lands a lead right to the lead. they fight on the inside and Diaz lands some uppercuts on the inside.
