I rate Fitz in my top 10 P4P list, sometimes top 5 but I can't say I am not disappointed by what little I see on film.

It’s literally the only footage made public. It’s not like it’s a short clip of James Toney looking sloppy.

Exactly. There isn't one positive thing about that footage. Not one.

But you wouldn't use that footage to make any kind of judgement. Everyone knows that.

    No they don't.

Imagine being a fan of someone you have never seen footage of (crazy, I know) and then you get presented with that! I'd cry.

Every single person who discusses boxing knows you cannot use a training clip to determine how good a Champion was.

Imagine if the only footage we had of Tyson was him training for Buster Douglas, by doing lines of coke off a hookers *****. Would that be used to make a judgement as to how good a fighter he was?

I'm sure that his fights against Ruhlin or Maher would give him more justice, but to me he still looks like I expected - cool and collected puncher who could feint and set up murderous blows very well. His defense is also similary to described - he used head movement mostly and he used elbows well.

I used to feel like this.

Now I watch him fight Corbett and actually he impressed me.

I think you’re missing the point of the thread. In available footage of Greb, he looks like ****.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t an ATG. It means he looks like **** in available footage, which is next to none.

It's the only footage of Greb I've seen and I've tried to rationalize it but I can't. There is nothing in that video that makes me think I'm watching a good boxer. A boxer like SRL, or Ali, or Duran couldn't/wouldn't look like that at the worst time of their life. People who have learned fundamentals, and movement will always use those fundamentals and movement regardless of their age or condition.

When a man drops his right hand when he jabs, moves forward off balance with his head down while slapping with his left hand, that fighter is doing what he knows, he might be "playing around" but if he is moving wrong, making fundamental mistakes, I believe that is how he fought.

He looks like a schizophrenic wrestling with a person who doesn’t exist.

Mate, Greb is THE biggest enigma in Boxing history.

Nobody who is a fan of the man, and of sound mind, would see that video and not feel like their bubble would be slightly deflated, at best.

What happens if more footage, longer footage shows up and he's still doing he same? What will you say then?
