That's why I don't view your argument seriously. You basically said that you don't rate Johnson based on training, but you have to judge Greb because we don't have more footage. Sorry but this is ridiculous.

He's moving his arms around while holding weights, not wrestling an imaginary baboon.

He's shadow boxing an imaginary baboon using hand weights. Like swinging a heavy iron bar before picking up a baseball bat and going to the plate.

Looks pretty crude on film to me. Maybe it's the speed I dont know but just raw looking considering what I read about the man

Langford set up punches well. He had good defense and head movement. He used combos efficiently. He had very good jab and amazing hook. He was fast and powerful. I don't agree that he looks crude at all.

If you had to choose between Johnson and Greb to set to Benny Hill’s music, who would you pick?

That was his weight after spending the morning running in a failed attempt to sweat down to lightweight. It wasn't his natural weight.

Langford crude? Uhh, no. He presses with good head movement and feints to draw leads from which he counters with powerpunches. He also gets tremendous leverage in close from those long arms not unlike Moore or Liston.. Now Jeanette looks crude and completely overrated but I think Langford, when coupled with the other fights we have film of looks damn good.

I guess this is where we can disagree because I think modern fighters, particularly Floyd's training with goofy choreographed pad work etc is just that, designed to look good for the cameras. The old timers actually got into condition to fight 15 and 20 rounds at a fast clip. Something I cant imagine any of the above fighters you mentioned doing. But boy do they look good training... LOL

Yeah, Langford doesn't look crude to me at all. He looks like he's buying leads from fighters he expects to be over-aggressive but that's hardly the same thing and it paid off. He boxes with marvelous counter-pressure. He looks great to me.

When I uploaded this footage of Conn at LHW got a weird response:
