Fitz, Ketchel, Langford, Steele, would all be capable of hurting him, perhaps Moore, Lausse, Hostak. To claim no MW in history could hurt him is some wishful thinking.

    I interpreted this....

as him meaning all time. I suppose it could mean among the MW's Hagler fought in his own era but it would seem like a redundant statement since we all know he was never stopped and the TS also asked what 3 all time would have the best chance of doing so.

No way does Ketchel stand a chance he is way too primitive and one dimensional, he makes Graziano look like Robinson. Sure he has enough power to hurt him but he's just leagues below Hagler skill wise

People act as if guys pre-1915 weren't world class athletes, they were and would be capable of making technique and style adjustments to fit into a more modern era. It would be alot easier for someone like Ketchel to do that than for a modern fighter to remain as effective in a 40 round fight......and in a 40 round fight you're god damn right Ketchel cracks Hagler's chin.

By about round 25 most of the old guys were staggering around the ring like a couple of old drunks on payday

Check out Nelson vs Wolgast and get back to me. They have a higher workrate in the 37th round than most WW's do today. Ketchel fought the two best HW's of his era, both of who were Black no less, in Langford and Johnson while Hagler didn't even have enough guts to move up a division and fight Spinks.

I never stated anything about him being a world class athlete or not I stated he was leagues below Hagler skill wise and video evidence would back this up. Watch any Hagler fight then watch Ketchel against Papke and tell me what you think.

I hate the arguement people use stating if it was a fight to finish then the old school fighter would somehow ultimatley end up winning because of whatever, acting as if they wouldnt in the process be taking ALOT of punishment. In any case Hagler was an extremely well conditioned man, capable of fighting at a good pace over a stretch of 15 rounds, Ketchel fought in an era of more rounds, but less in-ring activity with less punches thrown and clinching for extended periods of time. Ketchel wouldn't be able to lunge attack and clinch Hagler to victory much less crack his chin. Ridiculous.

Finally some sense ...You just have to laught at the people on here who `talk` about Hagler being stopped, when he never was even truly floored. Like he never fought any true punchers in his career !!! Plus, how does someone start questioning a chin thats ranked up with THE best of all time ??And then you come up with hypotheticals to make an arguement that they `would have got Ko`d ? Ridiculous...

Tell that to Cyclone Hart, Bennie Briscoe etc. etc . Hagler fought EVERYONE on his climb up the ladder. He was uncrowned champ before he even won the title. So, Hearns would have gotten it even worse against MMH in `77`.. Hagler in late 70`s was a beast...

nelson - Wodgast may be an exception to the genral rule. I've seen enough old footage to know they grappled and hung onto each othr more than they fought

Hagler scared of going to 175? Why would he have wanted or needed to do that? Middleweight always was and still is, the premier division outside the fat *******s at HW

Haglers chin was granite. I cant picture anyone coming close to stopping him.
