    Good stuff :good

I'm jealous you got to see any of the Gatti/Ward fights live. Let alone watch it on live tv. I didn't really become a die hard, wanna know everything, wanna box, fan until about the end of 03. Once I got into boxing I immediately fell in love with Gatti's warrior mentality. I was mesmorized watching the Gatti/Ward replays, and still get goosebumps to this day watching Round 9 of the first fight.

The year before Gatti died, my wife got me signed gloves by, Him and Ward. I have them in a glove display case. They are one of my most valuable posetions, in my mind.

And I saw Tyson/McBride in Florida, and everyone watching, wanted to see Tyson be relevant again, so any punch he landed brought ridiculous excitement from everyone. What a let down it was in the end thought. At least Laila Ali whipped some ass on the undercard :good

That's awesome how boxing worked out for your personal life too.

I remember watching many of Chavez sr.'s fights with my whole family. He was a thrill a minute to watch. But 2 of his fights I remember the most Chavez vs Taylor 1( what a comeback) and watching him fight Haugen and beat the sh*t out of him Even through the television you could feel the roar of the more than 100,000 people in attendance. Just awesome!!!!!!!!!

    Good ****.

haha yea I've had my "get back here before someone calls the cops moments" on fight nights as well :yep

Mosley vs Mayorga was one of those nights.

There were a bunch of people over, and there was the typical clueless guy saying Mayorga was gonna pull the upset, and a guy who was doing his boxing homework, saying the fight would go the distance. I told them they were both wrong, that Mosley would win, and it would be by knockout. So once the late rounds started coming on, and Mosley was obviously having trouble securing the win, the "whats up with Mosley mr. I know everything about boxing guy", I kept telling the just wait, Mosley will do it. So needless to say, once Mosley scored the last second ko, I immediately went into a ****** tantrum, screaming "I told you bitches! I ****ing told you bitches!" 140000 times and let the neighborhood now I told 'em too:lol:

Before Gatti's second fight with Ward he was working out in Vero Beach, and my aunt and uncle lived there. I asked them to go get Gatti's autograph, and it turns out my aunt went alone...no boxing fan, or anything like that at all. She tells me she approached a "black fella with a bald head" in the parking lot and asked how she could get Gatti's autograph. The man went in and got it for her on a picture of when he fought DLH (I always thought that an odd choice of a photo for him to sign). Then, my aunt asks this guy "are you a fighter too" and he goes, "Yeah, I"m buddy Mcgirt, Gatti's trainer" so I got his autograph too, lol lol.

The very very first boxing memory I ever have is SRL vs. Donny LeLonde, my uncle used to take me to his in-law's house to watch the fights, and SRL was HUGE in our family because we are all from MD, where of course SRL is from. Even in my tiny age (I think 5) I remember thinking Lelonde was never throwing his right hand, and my family getting a kick out of that. There were other kids my age there but I plopped on the couch with everyone and sat there and watched the fight.

I'm glad you enjoy my stories, I love telling them!

I've also had my "I told you motha****ers" moments, Taylor-Hopkins II comes to mind...there's just something special about boxing, it's hard to quantify but it's just different than other sports, you got to love it.

I completely agree. I say this everyday to most of my co-workers. Ecspecially when football season comes around.

I say in football, when the score is 42-3 at the end of the 4th quater, theres no excitement left to watch the rest of it. When a fighter has lost the entire fight, you have to watch until the very end, because you never know if a possible lopsided defeat can be turned into a upset of the decade win at any moment.

I say think of if in football, there was a possible 50 point touchdown, that could happen in the 4th quarter how much more exciting it would be, think of a come from behind ko in the 12th round like that.
