No, he is a sharp guy who does his homework. After watching the Showtime special Bipolar Rock N Roller on him I have a newfound respect. You have to give it up for people who push themselves so hard to make it when they are sometimes ill-equipped.

 

I think hes really good at his job, but he has no idea what hes doing. If that makes any sense.
I like his voice and how he conducts himself, but it's as if were not only watching a different fight, i sometimes feel we are watching different sports.

He knows how to call out the more flashy things(aka big punches) but he has a very limited knowledge of boxing.

 

Mauro? Or is it another guy?

On Mauro, I actually really like him. He projects excitement into a fight which is his job, yeah, he may not be the most knowledgeable but usually he has Al or others to help him on that regard.

 

Like most commentators, he has no clue what the difference is between a landed punch and a blocked one. Between a head shot and a slip.

- But that's the state of boxing today in general.

 

Lampley is worse than him at that though (Although recently he's been better).

 

He's too over the top for me though I am trying to warm up to the guy as I think he's gonna' be around for awhile, so I might as well get used to him. Regarding the documentary about his problems; so sick of this ****. I am so tired of the sport trying to construct some instantaneous artificial emotional bond between myself and the talent. If it occurs organically over time, great; my enjoyment is indeed enhanced. But please, quit coming at me like Cal Worthington and his dog Spot trying to sell me a pickup truck 3 times each hour.

He's the reason I mute the Shotime fights. I realize now that he's bi-polar, but his shouting is beyond annoying especially as he often interrupts Bernstein and/or Paulie with a girlish scream every round or two.

He's the worst of all TV boxing announcers by a wide margin.

 

I'm bi-polar and have never even had a fraction of the kind of opportunities the man has. Maybe some kind of motivational movie about my life is in the works...? I didn't know having a disease made you exceptional or deserving or a documentary detailing your life.

 

Just because you are bi-polar doesn't mean you waltz to success, as evidenced by your own claim. My point was kudos to Mauro for having the stuff to make it happen. Good for him.

 

His documentary revolves around the fact that he's bi-polar, it has little to do with his actual talent. A pretty embarrassing fact, I wouldn't want to be portrayed as being defined by an illness like that.

Some viewers have also noticed that he often sounds like he’s humping someone’s leg during the broadcast. While others have noticed that, when excited, he often stands on his hind legs and drools like a Newfoundland. Both facts are indeed true.
