I feel more uncomfortable watching Lampley than Mauro. Lampley is regularly on the verge of crying. He is always tearing up. I feel like slapping him across the face and saying, "stiff upper lip, old man."

Mauro comes from a pro wrestling and MMA colour commentary background so his knowledge of boxing isn't top notch but I've always liked his over-the-top style.

I like Mauro too, always loved him back in Pride FC days (MMA), him and Bas Rutten was a fun duo! One thing that I like about him as well is the fact that he genuinely seems to enjoy combat sports. Always cool to have commentators that really enjoy the sport they are commentating on

He's a really good pro wrestling announcer, but that doesn't necessarily translate as well when calling boxing. I don't think he's the most knowledgeable of announcers, but is more capable of providing background and tends to be less of a shill than some other play by play announcers.

Also, when a fight is really good, his tendency to become excitable actually tends to add to the experience of watching the fight.

I'm OK with him as a boxing announcer...at least at this point.

I really don't have a problem with him. He's fine.
