Why are people starting to turn on Pacquiao here? Lord knows we are all big enough geeks to know the various developments and I really don't know how we can come to the conclusion that Pacquiao has done anything to garner any hate. As per the recent Morales interview that showed as far back as 2005 he was wary of blood tests before a fight - how does this not completely and absolutely absolve him of any grief? He felt and believed that the blood test shortly before the fight weakened him, a fact verified by Morales who commented that there was no sting in Pacquiao's punches whatsoever. Why then is it not understandable that before the biggest fight of his life, that - although it shouldn't, to the average boxing fan - will determine the breadth of his legacy, and against the first opponent in I don't know how long, he actually desperately wants to beat, that he would not want to repeat something that has in the past severely hindered his ability? People keep saying "hey it's just an little bit of blood for 25 mill. if you're innocent he would take it". But it's not that. If he agrees and then loses his legacy will be seriously tarnished as everyone will be asking if he had used roids or HGH or whatever to beat DLH, Cotto, Hatton, etc. If he loses comprehensively, the **** storm will be unbelievable. Because of all of this controversy now it has actually become a considerable move to avoid the fight. Of course, he COULD take the tests, beat them, and then beat Mayweather and then become the greatest fighter of his generation, consensus, and a legit ATG. But you cant guarantee that and IMO it is an insane gamble when considering what he will lose (entire legacy) if he passes the test then loses. But whatever. He's already pointed out that the late blood test weakened him (and whether it did or not is irrelevant, the fact is that he believed it did) and that's why he doesn't want to do it again, before the biggest fight of his career. How is this even questionable? I highly doubt Manny mentioned the weakness because of the blood test as a seed he was planting to cover his steroid usage in the future. Is Mayweather scared of the fight and this was calculated strategy to avoid it? I have always thought so, but I can't say for sure. You could definitely make a case for Floyd thinking he can win but he just wants to make sure Pac is on the level. Either way though, if you were to go by your boxing history IMO it is more incriminating for Floyd than Manny, as Manny has passed every test ever given to him whereas Floyd has a distinct history of ducking fighters that could be a threat to him. Lastly, Floyd tries to make his own testing rules, treats Manny like a cheat, and because Manny doesn't want to play ball with this he is the one who has ****ed everything up? Come on, surely not. Right?
It seems to me that a lot of people have missed a lot of the statements that have been made by both sides so they aren't getting the full picture. a thread that chronologically lists the articles and interviews on the whole saga would be very helpful. Hint hint
there is a pretty good thread that does list everything in chronological order...i don't know where its at but its not but a few days old...
Just because he (pacquiao) said that on the interview AFTER HE LOST to Morales you believe him? IN MY COUNTRY THATS CALLED EXCUSE ...And yes Morales said he didnt feel the power.. so what Morales was just trying to look good and provoke pacquiao is not like "I didnt feel the power" for real, people saying that its a MENTAL PROBLEM and all that BS is just that a ****ing BS EXCUSE, plain and simple, just look at this example: If a fighter DIDNT DO a blood test before a fight and he "felt himself in excelent shape" swings his straight punch lets say at 60 mph (i have no idea if this is normal just as an example) and the same fighter DO THE BLOOD TEST before the same fight and "HE FEEL WEAKENED" swings his straight punch at the same 60 mph...WHO IS GONNA HIT HARDER? Please people its ****ing physics it doesnt matter if you feel or not weaker your punch WILL HAVE THE SAME EFECT because its the same fist at the same velocity thrown with the same weight so please ITS THE SAME **** AS SIMPLE AS THAT doesnt matter you feel weak or not !!!
i feel exactly as you do. if you are smart and process all the info available, you start to see a picture based on who is who. unfortunately, the loudest voices on here are here to cheer for their man and they are very selective about the info that they reference and which they ignore. these guys are clowns and you shouldnt take them seriously even if they outnumber the boxing fans. just be glad your reasoning powers arent as limited as theirs.
Um Pacquiao said the Morales blood test weakened him because he couldn't eat or drink water, because he had to make weight. According to *******s, he doesn't have to cut any weight to make welter. He can drink and eat as he pleases following the blood test. That excuse has just flown out the window.
You're missing Pac's whole point. Pac believe, rightly or wrongly, that losing that very small amount of blood so close to the fight affected his performance. He stated this belief in 2005 when no one was even remorely talking about Pac-Mayweather.
Did you read his explanation as to WHY he thought it weakened him? Because he was on weight and couldn't drink or eat anything to recover. That won't be a problem at this weight limit. You'll have to look further down Pac's roll-a-dex of excuses, you're at #233 right now.
You have to remember professional athletes are some of the most superstitious people out there (let alone an asian one, LOL). Look at baseball players. Some have never stepped on the foul line when going/coming back to the field. Why? Because they wrongly think it effects their play. Not to mention that all sports contain both a mental and physical aspect. So the way Pacquiao sees it; the last time he lost was when blood was taken out of him close to fight night. So he will do whatever he can to make sure that situation doesn't get recreated. Having blood taken from him close to fight night will effect him mentally not physically.
Not discussing any merit on who's right or wrong on this, just would like to know if it's possible for Pacman to juice it up less than 30 days before the fight and be completelly clean on fight night to pass both blood tests he has agreed to. Are there drugs that can be that quick? How about putting up a big finacial penalty for getting caught in the drug tests? something like losing half of the purse to the other fighter? It seems to me all this talk is just covering up the fact that there is not a real interest in making this fight from both camps. Both are huge money making machines and none of them want to risk losing all the hype that surrounds them. Now, with this lawsuit, it pratically kills the chance of this fight ever happening.
Most unbiased followers of this dilemma who know boxing don't understand and can't rationalize Floyd's actions here...most who were willing to give Floyd the benefit ot doubt believed that Floyd was just using this as a negotiation tactic or a mind game. But, when Floyd and GBP were persistent with their claims and persistent on their position regarding the drug testing protocol, it made people start to question the integrity of both fighters. Is Pacquiao taking PEDs? Does Floyd Mayweather really want to fight Pacquiao? I think most rational people who look at the evidence presented thus far can answer that question with confidence. May wants nothing to do with Pac...it seems pretty obvious now...Pac has put Floyd in check, and Floyd isn't handling the challenge very well...
