Re-scored the WARD-KOVALEV fight **UNBIAS** Post your scorecard!

I agree with your score and the outcome, but I'm willing to say there was "low blows" instead of "borderline"... but the best fighter won no doubt.

 

6-1 Ward

 

Had Kovalev in the lead by a wide margin on the basis of him landing his jab at will, throwing and landing more punches and being the constant aggressor. Ward's output (esp to the body) increased later on in the fight when he realized Kovalev hit his stamina wall. Defensively Ward was much better in this fight than the first, Kov had an extremely hard time catching him with the right hand. The left hook was virtually non-existent.

 

So there were close rounds right? If you agree then it's possible to score 7-0 for Ward if you perceived him to be more effective. Just think about it.

Feeling is mutual I believe I had kov up one round but the Ward momentum was glaring

 

3-2 Kova, two even. So from 5-2 Kova to 4-3 Ward I could see. I just think Kovalev outworked Ward for most, and while Ward did land the better shots in some rounds, they were too far between for me to give him then. It wasn't a domination or anything like some claim by Ward, it was close. It just depends if you think round 8 was controversial or not.

 

I can see why people would have Ward 4-3 up before the 8th.
1st round for me was the closest of the fight. Kov landed more and Ward with the more powerful shot that landed.
