    Evening ESB.

We have no Prizefighting on tonight, (Unless we count Deontay Wilder fighting yet another can.) As a result I've decided to re-score Hopkins vs Taylor 1, as a sort of RBR thread. I'd appreciate it if you'd all score along, and we can see the difference between scores, and the reasoning as to why.

King Khan is on board and will be scoring along with me. Hopefully some more of you fancy your chances at this type of thing. As far as I'm aware, it's not been done before.

Maybe we can judge the judges better, once we've experianced the conflict in scoring among ourselves.

Eastside Boxing rules dictate that I can't post a link to a full copyrighted fight. Below is a Youtube link to the beggining of the fight. If you guys happen to find your way on to the second part, then that is nothing to do with me.

Kick off time will be top of the hour, about 15 minutes from now.

    Round 1 -

Both fighters start tentative, extending their jabs and circling eachother. Searching for lead positioning.

Taylor lands a jab stepping to his left, Hopkins using cagey movement to avoid Taylor's advances, and lands a lead left hook. Taylor lands a solid left hook, as Hopkins jumps in off balance which is very unlike him.

Hopkins spoils and rabbit punches, and Nady is quick to break them.

Taylor tries to close the round out as Hopkins concentrates on avoiding contact.

    10 - 9 Jermain Taylor

    10 - 9 - JT

    Round 2 -

Taylor comes out jabbing to the body, as the fighters movements mimick that of the first round, cautious.

Taylor throws two wide sweeping punches and a right hand pushes Hopkins back into the ropes, nothing hurtful landed but the sight of Hopkins falling backwards brings the crowd alive! Taylor tries to press but lands little of concequense. Hopkins ties up. Taylor then lands a right hand to the body as the crowd starts to chant for Taylor.

Hopkins starts to fight rough, clinching and throwing shots inside.

Left hook right hand from Taylor who is dominating the second. Hopkins begins to come forward as he realises that this kid is taking control.

Hopkins finally lands his right hand lead, lunging it into a clinch and landing a few rabbit shots, for which he is warned by Nady.

As the ten second count goes, Taylor lunges in landing nothing but exciting the crowd.

    10 - 9 JT

    20 - 18 for Taylor

    Round 3: 10-9 Taylor.

Pretty clear Taylor round, as he controls the action with his jab (although not many landing cleanly). Throws a wild, sloppy overhand right that makes contact on top of Hopkins' shoulder. . . Hopkins leads with a straight right, ties up. . Hopkins circling, circling, looking like a coiled up viper wating to strike again. . But all the while Taylor flicking the jab, and coming with hte occassional power punch. . .

    Pretty clear Taylor round.

    10-9 Taylor; 30-27 Taylor.

    Round 3 -

Hopkins comes out on his toes, all previous thoughts of aggression gone. Taylor stalks his pray.

Hopkins lands two body shots and holds Taylor, hitting as expected. Nady steps in and gives a firm warning.

Taylor lands a solid body shot but get's caught upstairs with a left hook. The young man then lands three solid jabs, again bringing the crowd into play, which may influence scoring.

Taylor appears to be too strong physically for Hopkins to settle into a rythm, this is mind vs Body.

Hopkins is content to let Taylor lead for now and takes a few more jabs as a result before landing a solid left hook. Taylor then bull rushes Hopkins landing a left and a right to steal the round.

    10 - 9 JT

    30 - 27 for Taylor.

    Round 4 -

Hopkins comes out more aggressive with his feet, but still allows the bigger Taylor to fire his shots first. ANOTHER warning from Nady to Hopkins before JT lands a solid left hook forcing Hopking to retreat.

Hopkins initiates a clinch and bangs away on the inside.

Hopkins begins to throw more punches only narrowly avoiding a JT uppercut before being forced into the ropes, as he's going back Hopkins times the right hand and lands a counter left hook. Solid shot.

Taylor bull rushes Hopkins and takes a left hook on the inside for his trouble.

    10 - 9 Hopkins

    39 to 37 for Taylor.
