    Round 10 -

Taylor controls distance by pawing with the jab, Hopkins gets close enough to clinch and throw short shots inside.

Taylor lands a solid left to the body before they start to exchange, nothing of significance lands yet Taylor's size gives off an impression that it did.

Hopkins lands a huge right hand and bulls Taylor into the ropes who is forced to hold on for dear life. Hopkins presses the attack and lands two shots to behind Taylors head. Ref steps in. Taylor lands a shot to back Hopkins off for a second.

    10 - 9 Hopkins

    96 - 95 for Hopkins

    Round 11 -

Scrappy opening, wrestling and rabbit punching galore.

Hopkins lands a snapping right hand lead.

Taylor lands a leaping left hook.

Hopkins again lands a lead right hand and elects to wrestle rather than throw a combination. Allowing Taylor to recover enough to land a jab on Nard and slip the counter right hand.

Taylor takes a big right hand and left hook, slipping on some water. Bernard then lands a step in up jab which does more damage than would be expected, forcing a flurry out of Taylor who backs Hopkins up. Taylor lands a glancing right hand before Nard lands a HUGE right hand knocking the mouthpeice out. Taylor elects to fight yet Hopkins uses his feet to maintain distance.

    10 - 9 Hopkins

    106 - 104 for Hopkins

Got a feeling the HBO agenda machine is going to **** Hopkins out of this one so they can cash in on Taylor.

    Round 12 -

Hopkins charges out and lands a glancing right hand as Taylor retreats.

Taylor lands a big right hand of his own, narrowly avoiding Hopkins return shot.

Big leaping right from Hopkins, knocking vasaline from Taylors head before they exchange in the corner, Taylor comes out on top and lands a big right hand of his own.

Hopkins lands another big right hand, he has Taylor's measure with that shot.

Hopkins hurts Taylor with a right left combo, before bulling him into the ropes and then easing off the gas.

Hopkins content to dance and clinch.

A brief flurry before the bell sees Taylor land a few pitty pat shots.

    10 - 9 Hopkins

    116 - 113 for Hopkins

Bear in mind the even round in the 6th. I'd give it to Taylor if I had to. Making it a probably more realistic card of 115 - 114

The argument for scoring an even round to a champion is based on the belief that the challenger must do enough to take the title from the Champion mate.

My biggest peeve with amatuer Boxing is that they score based on quantity rather than on quality. I gave the 6th even because Taylor landed much more, but jabs, were as Hopkins landed the two stand out punches in the round :good

There were a few rounds here that would have merited a 10-10 score. Rounds 4, and 5 come to mind. . . Few more fairly even rounds.

I thought Taylor definitely won round 6, though, and was the clearest round for him in the fight. . .

I don't agree with the whole "champion gets the benefit of the doubt" and "challenger has to take the title" logic. During the fight, neither is the champion, as they are both fighting for it. . The champion belt is suspended for those 48 minutes while they fight. . . What goes on in the ring during those 3 minutes is the only basis for how the round is scored, IMO.
