So I got round to rewatching HBO broadcast (without sound) using the same criteria for each round (landed shot/effective shots/hurtful blows/forcing action effectively etc etc) and 2 things really struck me. One was how incredibly difficult it was to score, second the huge amount of leather Canelo threw ineffectively (caught on gloves, missed).

I scored it by 2 to GGG and I had two rounds even. But I agree with Paulie Malinagiis assessment that if you score by same criteria you cant give Canelo more than 6- its impossible in my option unless you are biased or don't understand that jabs count and missing or hitting gloves doesn't and walking forward ineffectively doesn't get you points.

The two rounds I had even could be scored to Canelo and thats 6-6.

My conclusion is that being round 12 was clearly clearly GGG by any criteria and the fact that 2/3 judges gave it Canelo proves how corrupt this sport is. I wish some big fighters would stand up and demand a world sanctioning body /commisioner who is not in bed with alphabet organisations or promoters. Our sport is so visibly corrupt its embarrassing. I would like to see a third fight as I think GGG would go for KO and thereby one of them would get stopped. Maybe him.

You are wrong (like 90% of the boxing world) because Canelo clearly won. Robert Garcia, Mikey Garcia, Mayweather Sr., Andre Ward, Canelo’s mum, Oscar, Max “story of the fight” Kellerman they all had it for Canelo.

This sport is clean, no corruption at all especially when it’s about Álvarez.

Last week I was sad, disappointed, disgusted but I’m alright now. I wanted a third fight but now I think it’s pointless. 2 robbery was more than enough, we don’t need a 3rd one.

Time to move on, he was done over and was to be expected. He knew he wasn't going to gate a fair shake if it went to the judges and was a competitive fight.

I had it 8-4. I had 6 rounds which were fairly clear Golovkin rounds, 2 clear Canelo rounds and 3 swing rounds. Even if I give all the swing rounds to Canelo I have him losing. IMO Golovkin did better this time than last in landing the heavier shots and in making Canelo miss more.

    But here's the thing.

The first fight people that said Canelo won, said he won because he landed the heavier punches and because he made Golovkin miss with some wild swings. I'd have to admit that the 2-3 best punches of the first fight were landed by Canelo, even though they had no visible effect.

In this fight Golovkin landed the much heavier leather and actually had Canelo hurt twice. He also utilised movement to have Canelo flapping his wings on several occasions.

Yet, the same people reckon Canelo won using opposite criteria!

Therefore, this goes beyond "scoring the fights depends on what you value in a fight" - what this is, is a set of elastic scoring methods that fit whatever style Canelo happens to be using at the time.

AKA people are actively looking for reasons to have him win.

The fight was a clear draw. GGG won't do much different in the 3rd fight because I believe he was going for the KO in the 2nd fight, just couldn't make it happen. Canelo is a good fighter and GGG couldn't put together enough effective combinations to KO him.

It does me and will do Golovkin but when he sees the extra $$$$ in his bank account the pain will eventually go away.

golovkin proved hes the better boxer/fighter over 24 rounds and has nothing to show for it, the sport is disgustingly corrupt. golovkin is a great middleweight for sure anyone who says otherwise need to get off the forum.

So basically you decided to score the fight using different criteria than is used for scoring fights.

I rewatched the Steelers-Bucs game last night and rescored it giving 3 points for touchdowns, 1 point for first downs and 2 points for interceptions. That’s basically what you’re doing.

Anyone who doesn’t know the four criteria used to score pro boxing has no business coming to any conclusion, much less talking about corruption.

Yeah can't do anything about them, but I still feel that if he'd scored a KD it would have become extremely difficult to steal it from him.

I'd put up with a lot for that kind of money, true.
