To Chinxkid. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I hung out at Stillmans 1948-49. Lou Stillman didn't want me roaming the streets so he let me in for nothing. I remember most of the names you mentioned most of all Zivic. But you mentioned Vinnie Rossano. Vinnie and his brother Rocco also a boxer lived in my area of Brooklyn. There was also the Bertucci's. My cousin married one of the Bertucci girls. I can still picture Stillmans as if I was there yesterday. I may have mentioned this before but Tony Janiero took me under his wing. Asking if I ate lunch and made sure I went home after leaving Stillmans. I was 15 years old. Then my Dad stepped in and said if your not going to school I got you a job. I retired as a foreman of water and sewer construction. I was heartbroken when Jake LaMotta beat Janiero so badly. But then LaMotta is LaMotta. absolutely the toughest man I ever met. Regards. Rosario
You're thread brings back warm memories, R. Was at Stillmans the years you mention. Trained by Izzy Blank. Any recollection of him?
In my heart, I'm still a kid, fc, but the mirror's not fooled. Plead guilty to training at Stillmans.
