Who has had the best career out of the lot of them so far?

And who has had the worst career out of them so far?

Seem's like they have done absolutely nothing since turning pro (well, compared to what they should of done byw now/should be doing).

Where would you expect fighters to be 3-3 1/2 years into there careers?

Degale, fought his domestic peers, now has European title

BJS , shows brilliant talent but struggled with injurys

Price, Now making a name for himself

The worst has to be Tony Jeffries, I don't rate him at all.

If you look at all of the fighters that competed in 2008, not just the Brits there's no one really that's pushed on significantly in the pros yet.

    http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Category:2008_Olympians

Pulev is making decent progress, Demetrius Andrade is starting to push on, Wilder's fought no one, Felix Diaz hasn't had enough fights, Chakhiev's also not active enough.

Doesn't help that the two best fights, Cammarelle and Lomachenko, didn't turn pro.

On the whole the 2008 Olympians doesn't look like an outstanding bunch.

Compare that to 2004 where you had Angulo, Berto, Dirrell, Gamboa, Golovkin, YP Hernandez, Khan, JuanMa, Mares, Vanes :)lol:), N'dam, Pascal, Povetkin, Rigo, Shumenov and a fair few more fringe contenders.

Obviously we need to give the 2008 class time but I don't see the same depth of talent atm.

I see more talent in the 2012 olympians tbh. Watch out for Ukraine, they have five or so world championship gold and silver medalist going pro, including the beast that is Lomachenko. You cant forget Anhony Joshua either. Also, for Ireland, the talent that will be at the London Olympics will have increased three fold in comparison to Bejing. Cant wait to see which lads might go pro after it:yep

modern amateur boxing has ruined uk pro's, there inclined to all be non punchers, scoring flicks with an open glove while your feets in midair is not good for future pro stars, headguards mean most are stiff backed with little defence against hooks etc. Putting it strait politics decide your success, big gloves and headguards means a bigger % of fights are decisions, i watched some years ago Chazz witherspoon and other u.s. olympic alternates box the selectedones, witherspoon beat the no1 vargas nearly to a pulp but lost unanimas, they had already made there minds up, the alternates were just warmups for the no1s, but in truth nearly all the ones playing second fiddle WON, Devon Vargas was no where nr as good as witherspoon. Strangely, i never seen any more tellivised olympic trials, shot thereselves in the foot with tv ?. So its the same crap in one form or another, WORLDWIDE.

    Are you serious?

Degale, fair play to him, has stepped up on the domestic scene.

    BJS is awesome.

Look at Joe Murray or Frankie Gavin, they're more or less going nowhere atm.

Price? **** me, if Big John would of taken him into deep waters this place would of been filled with "Price is finished" threads.

I expect them to be a little bit busier and a little bit above fighting for irish titles and such.

PRice has the best chance to be succesful. He has the most talent and is in a weakest division. I dont see DeGale as a world beater, certainly not at 168.

Biggest flop from 08 Olympics will be Kenny Egan.

Can see him regretting not turning pro forever now.

DeGale has probably been the only big let down so far, hasn't reached the dizzy heights he did as an amateur but still hardly horrendous, he's European champion. Needs a better trainer.

Jefferies it just hasn't worked for in the pros, no idea how he was a good amateur in fact.

BJS coming along well, poor competition so he hasn't done a great deal but you have to put that into context of injuries.

Price I was a doubter of, but he's coming out of his shell as a fighter and last few fights have been on the up slope from Pregnant Latvians.
