4 is still plenty, the point is that he has to risk that much in order to connect that much and I don't know if that is something Floyd is willing to do at this point in his career.
floyd is has more speed than algeiri so pac won't walk him down. speed increases power and more when not expected.
well as you said, pacman will not be employing the same tactic.. He walked down pillow fisted algieri and he'd be stupid to do the same to floyd.
Pac will obviously get caught with right hands in this fight. It's about if he can avoid enough of them and land enough of his own.
Rewatching the Algieri fight, it's abundantly clear that Manny had no respect for Algieri's skill or power. He literally jogged after him in circles and occasionally clobbered him with power shots. Real Life Experience: One time in the gym I was sparring through all the guys there (there were only 7). I am 6'0, 170lb, and I was hammering everyone because they were all less experienced than I was. They ranged from shorter than me, 155lb, to 6'3 200lb. It was easy, friendly work. The last guy they put in was a relative newb, 15yrs old, probably like 5'6 120lb, I think it was like his second time sparring. So I just put my hands up and walked him down, followed him around the ring, just doing nothing but putting my jab out there and tapping him with my right if he got too careless. I didn't bother avoiding his punches because I wanted him to have some success using what he learned (and he didn't have any power at all). He hit me with every punch in the book over and over, but it wasn't effective at all because I had him off balance and he was not experienced in getting leverage (and I was way bigger). I kind of think that's how Pacquiao vs. Algieri was. Manny was not the least bit concerned about Chris popping him with those little girly shots at all. He just knew all he had to do was stay in punching range and hit him hard every once in a while and he'd win. I think Roach and Manny knew getting Algieri out of there would be pretty damn impossible. So basically, don't take any lessons from that fight. Algieri was a light-punching novice.
