Re-watching Chad Dawson v Jean Pascal, it changed my mind

Pascl was on ***** street right before the fight was stopped .Had it not been stopped by the cut I beleive he would have KOED him !

This is my take on the fight. Dawson has every tool in the shed except a bulldog mentality. Ward has that.

In the Dawson/Pascal fight, Dawson waited far too long to take the fight to Pascal; an inactive fighter known for gassing. If Dawson had the same mentality as Ward, he would have pushed Pascal, made him gas, then whipped his ass.

Ward has never dealt with someone like Dawson before. He could pose problems for Ward early on especially if Ward can't adjust. Dawson on the other hand has fought someone like Ward before in Hopkins. If Dawson isn't effected by the weight I would possibly lean towards him.

 

I agree. Ad.j.u.s.t.i.n.g to Bika is way different than a.j.u.s.t.i.n.g to Dawson. If Chad doesn't have any slow points or doesn't fade, what will be Ward's plan b? It definitely isn't out boxing him and to be honest, there's no guarantee he wins an inside battle with Dawson who does have a good inside game and is the naturally bigger man.

I'm starting to lean to Dawson also,he has speed and some pop.

 

I'm a big Dawson fan, one of the biggest on the forum and agree that he has a very good chance at upsetting Ward but the Pascal fight was Dawson at his absolute worst. What an odd fight to convince you he has a chance. Based on that fight alone I would say Ward shuts him out! Lucky I've watched the rest of his career to know that he can give Ward a run for his money.

Dawson is not like anyone Wards fought and he's bigger, faster and technically better than anyone Wards fought. Not to mention Ward is coming off fighting Abraham and Froch followed by a year of rust..... the year of rust is bad but what's worse is that Abraham and Froch couldn't be more different than Dawson, they're the complete opposite.... Wards last 2 fights will do nothing to prepare him for Chad whereas Chad just fought the closest thing to Ward that's possible in Hopkins. Ward is faster with better stamina so it'll be like fighting an old B-Hop on roids but this will without a doubt help Dawson vs Ward.

 

I'm still leaning towards Ward to win by ud. Dawson has the skills to win, but i think Ward will out smart him in the ring. Now the only thing this vid show is, Dawson should have did what he did in the later rounds earlier, and he could have possibly stoped Pascal.
