Mouthwatering for Hagler, yes. Mayweather may as well drench himself in steak sauce before that one, because he'd get eaten alive. Don't think he beats Hearns or Leonard either.

Roberto Duran, 119 fights, boxed until he was 50 years old?

Can't see Mayweather lasting that long let alone doing it undefeated.

To be fair Hearns was a nightmare for Duran.

But yes, Hearns is (in my opinion) a terrible match up for Floyd (but then so are Hagler and SRL).

Why discount Roberto's exploits at 160? Floyd and Duran started at similar weights and Floyd is taller (with a much longer reach).

    :yep

When you go through Duran's resume, it is amazing just how many great fighters he beat.

Hey Ducklerr, have you read Four Kings by George Kimball? It's about the Duran, Hagler, Hearns and Leonard era. If you haven't I strongly recommend it mate.

I wonder where MVC is? I always enjoy winding him up about his Broner-Duran at lightweight prediction in any thread that is about the great Manos de Piedra.

Leonard would've beaten him, he just had everything and I don't see a way that Mayweather could beat him. Hearns Is a nightmare for him but a closer fighter than SRL. Hagler at 160 is too big and strong and Floyd hasn't been near 160 so not gonna take it into account. Mayweather beats Benitez.

Mayweather-Benitez would have been one for the purist.

The thing with Floyd is, at almost 38 and clearly past prime, he is still the best welterweight and JMW on Earth!! I find that staggering.

Of course mate! It's a personal fav! Have you watched Clash of the Titans about the Benn-Eubank rivalry? Terrific viewing!

I'd best be off to bed, I've been saying I would for the past two hours

    Catch you soon, mate!

I've read it a few times as I love the story (or maybe it's because I'm thick and need to read something at least thrice before I can comprehend what the author is telling me ).

I don't think I have watched that (I may have done though as I loved that rivalry and watched loads of docs about those two).

    Goodnight skipper. :good
