I think Floyd loses to SRL, Hearns and Hagler. I think he does better against Hearns (which is faint praise I suppose) but I don't think he puts up the same sort of fight against Hagler.

Floyd-Benitez would've been interesting, although almost certainly not very entertaining to watch.

We have weight classes, because most people can't cut the flesh from their bones till they look like holocaust survivors and maintain their punching power. It's rarer for beanstock freaks like Robinson, Hearns, Arguello, Saddler, Foster, Spinks, to come along than thick short guys like Tyson, Tua, Marciano, James Toney, Joe Jeannette, Sam McVea, John Sullivan, or Oscar Bonavena who are heavyweights as tall as the typical middleweight. It's a body type issue. I'm not saying that the prior group cut weight, although they might have. I'm saying that they had the bone and muscular structure of larger men, but do to diet or metabolism were drastically underweight for their size. Weight classes are fairer for the majority of people, but they do favor certain body types more than others.

Moving up weight classes is obviously easier if you aren't simultaneously giving up height and reach. Paul Williams and Guillermo Jones moved from welterweight to middleweight and still had reach and height advantages over their opponents.
