Readers vote Pacquiao-Marquez III the "Robbery of the Year" for 2011

I want to see a 4th fight. I just would have rather seen May - Pac

Can't judge a fight by facial markings boxing does not work like that.
And not most people thought JMM got robbed over 80% of people thought he got robbed and from the remaining 20% 15+% thought it was a draw at best.

The only people that thought Pac won are RAMPANT obsessive fans that have no link to boxing knowledge and the people Arum paid off (the judges)

 

Pacquaio fans don't seem to understand that. Still clinging to it, despite it being proven many many times here over the last few weeks that facial damage means nothing in the context of who won a given fight.

 

Its kinda sad im somewhat of a Pac fan... god knows id root for Pac vs Mayweather (although i think Mayweather will win)
But that said these idiots honestly believe just throwing punches against gloves and air scores points.

Why not throw all 4 main criteria of boxing out the window and just score ineffective aggression.... well have Pac vs Suliman for the p4p ATG title.

We can scrap Joe Louis and Ali as well since Tua vs Ibeabuchi was for the greatest heavyweight title as well i mean look at the volume of punches they threw? obviously the greatest ever.

The human Windmill Joe Calzaghe was a top 10 ATG ever obviously as well and from now on all our boxers will throw with no technique whatsoever and just flail punches.

 

You're absolutely right on Marquez landing the harder shots. Pacquiao was lunging in a lot, like he usually does when he's kept off balance and has his rhythm disrupted. Marquez landed a lot of good counter punches when Pacquiao was coming in hard like that. The leverage of Juan's punches combined with using Pacquiao's own forward momentum against him = Hard shots landed. Luckily for Pacquiao, he's got an ATG chin. There's no doubt who landed the harder, better shots though. Also no doubt who the Ring General was, as I've demonstrated in several threads. JMM won that fight. Close, but clear.

 

Well 43% obviously didn't watch the fight in super slo-mo. lol
In all seriousness though, robbery of the year ahead of Lara-Williams, Chisora-Helenius? That's on par with the judging in those fights.

After the fight, Steve Bunce was talking about a condition called 'Manny disease', which is affecting the boxing media and fans everywhere at the moment. It's almost as if they believe that anything he throws MUST have landed, just because he's Manny Pacquaio - The G.O.A.T. :roll:

Plenty of times in that fight, and many of his other fights, he'd throw a quick flurry, most of which will hit air or land on the opponents gloves, yet the crowd 'ooh' and 'ahh', and even the commentators will mention it as if it was a devestating combination. He landed on JMM, and landed well, but I think his fans definitely exaggerate his effectiveness in that fight.

And again, facial damage doesn't mean ****. JMM almost always looks worse than his opponent after a fight, regardless of how easily he's beaten them.
