I usually refrain from posting these hypothetical match ups but recently i was wondering about DREAM fights. And if i could pit two fighters from ANY generations together, what fight would be MOST desirable and appealing to me.

Well, after much thought i was left with two names......a bout between The great Roberto 'Manos de piedra' Duran and The just as great Aaron 'The hawk' Pryor. The irony is that this clash almost became a reality any one know why it did not? Sensible answers please. My dream fight would take place at a catch weight between 135lbs-140lbs.

Duran was a monster at 135lbs and Pryor was a beast at 140lbs. No doubt they could each go up or down in eachothers respective weight class but a fair fight would be at 137.5 lbs.

This would be a heck of a fight and possibly due to their styles an absolute WAR for the ages. Two of the most intimidating and feroicious fighters in the history of the sport and in addition, arguably two of the greatest pugilists in their respective weight classes meet head on for immortality!!! (I got mad love both guys so will not predict a winner) What is your dream fight and why?

That would be something even though i never been a huge J.C.C fan, styles do make fights and this would be a hell of a fight.

It never happened simply because Duran skipped the 140 division and went straight to welterweight in his quest to land a fight with Sugar Ray Leonard.

Just as interesting is the fact that Alexis Arguello was moving up the ranks in an attempt to challenge Roberto Duran.

And hot on Arguello's heels was the Mexican great - Salvador Sanchez - who was gunning for a fight with Arguello.

Any one of these fights would have been a war for the ages.

It was also claimed Duran dodged Pryor but i believe that is hearsay as he went to 147lbs to challenge Ray Leonard. Damn shame boxing was deprived of a fight i feel would have gone down as one of the greatest bouts. Very good post btw :good

Im liking the Mayweather vs Whitaker match up. This would be insane in terms of skill levels exhibited.

If that was the case why would this be a dream fight for you? I meant as in pretty much equal skill, technical prowess, heart, ability atg great etc etc levels.
