Danny "Little Red" Lopez vs Alexis Arguello; 15 rounds at 126 around 1976-77.

About 1 month after Danny won the WBC title Alexis vacated the WBA title and moved up to 130. Danny was at his absolute best around 1976-1978, and Arguello was a bit green at 126; mostly known as a big puncher, not the skilled technician he became later.

Little red was arguably the hardest hitting featherweight of all time, and Arguello was not particularly hard to hit in those days. Alexis would have to survive some seriously scary **** in the early and mid rounds, but he'd survive, find a home for his own right hand, and beat the brakes off Danny in the later rounds. Arguello TKO 13 in a fight of the decade candidate.

I understand that these 2 are masters at what they do but watching two counter punchers circle eachother waiting on eachother isnt exsactly a dream fight :nut..

They both look better when there opponent is the aggresser.

 

Whitaker vs Mcgirt is one of the best technical Boxing matches you will see, and both fights were excellent to watch.

I believe Mayweather would have to be the aggressor to get any change out of Whitaker's lefty style. Generally you have to put pressure on Southpaw's and that is why Mayweather fought more aggressively against Corley,Mitchel,Judah coming foward etc.

 

I would say if its a 15 round fight Chavez late KO if its a 12 round fight Duran on points...

 

Dream fight? Me vs. a prime Mike Tyson. I win with by a 3rd round KO. The crowd goes wild. I'm lifted onto my trainers shoulders. Women start throwing their underwear into the ring.
